With us being off this week we've taken the opportunity to handover the reigns for the show to special guests, the guys behind the Dont F**k With Disco brand, Toby and Christian who have brought us an hour and a half of sheer, unadulterated feel-good vibes. This one is packed full of energy.

"Don’t F**K with Disco is the brainchild of Christian Smith and Toby Elliot with the idea for the brand born on a Ibizan dancefloor.

Inspired by Glitterbox, Disco Disco and La Discotheque, Don’t F**K With Disco brings big colours, big tunes and a whole lot of love. It prides itself on inclusivity, both musically with house and disco from throughout the decades and for party-goers alike with the aim of making the space inclusive for everyone.

Whether you're there to listen to amazing music, spend time with friends, old and new or just to have a beautiful time. Our dance floor has your name on it. We have plans for 2023 to take the event to festivals as well as launching our own DWFD label.

We have our summer launch party this week at Unit 58 in Tottenham, North London and return to the venue on the 6th August 2022 with some big names planned for the bill!

GC065 - Adam Nova 🇨🇭 

Hungarian born, but Switzerland based DJ & Producer Adam Nova swings by the GC Mixtapes this fortnight.

It is the soul-funk-disco of the 70s and 80s that leave their marks on his style, while he also seeks for the new and trendy. Nice vocals and the vibes of real instruments are some of his most valued guidelines. He believes nothing can beat the unique sound of a good House and classic disco mash.

His music is now being picked up by many fellow DJs and is played at numerous dance events and radio shows all over the world. Leading to him becoming Traxsource's Number 13 Nu-Disco Artist of 2021.

Happy new year! Here's the recording of a very lively House Party I attended at Chewy Rubs place in Seaford on the South Coast. I got to see all my good friends, drink a lot and play some great tunes. Myself and Chewy were also joined by Joel Xavier and Streetlife Djs who also throw in a couple of tunes into the mix later in the recording. Big shout out to the hosts and Ian for his Grenn Velvet homage just before midnight ;)

Sam’s set from St Mary's Chambers, Rossendale/Rowtenstall in North West, UK. This marks the 4th time Sam has been support DJ for Craig Charles Funk & Soul show on warm up DJ duties. 

All tracks are mixed and beat matched from start to finish, beginning at 100BPM and gently increasing to around 120BPM with a reset in the middle. 

The set includes a mixture of soul, funk and disco genres including originals, remixes and modern alongside some of Sam’s own edits.

This is what you can expect on the night mixed by head honcho of Masterworks Music 80's Child.

Masterworks Music kicks things off in fine style with their debut event featuring Late Nite Tuff Guy at the brand new Warrington venue the Attik Club.

Late Nite Tuff Guy is an absolutely superb DJ with immaculate programming and flawless mixing skills, last year whist in London he performed in the Mixmag Lab and he also has some very influential supporters, Greg Wilson, Jackmaster, Heidi and Dimitri from Paris have been regularly playing a handful of LNTG tracks in any given set and their ongoing support is testament to the quality of his work.

Support comes from head of Midnight Riot Records Yam Who? who is a Musician and collector that gained notoriety in 2003 for his ground breaking productions, remixes and edits. Having played at parties globally for over a decade he is the master of the future retro party sound and have taken the Nu-Disco scene by storm for quite some time now.

And not forgetting head honcho of Masterworks Music 80's Child aka Danny Worrall. has seen a meteoric rise in the last few years. A brilliant DJ and producer who always displays his love for all things 80's.

Room 2 features the guys behind Lovers In The Attik Steven Davidson & James Clark also playing House and Disco all night long.

if you follow me on Facebook you'll know I regularly post youtube links to what i consider interesting new and old music. I have always loved talking about tunes and try to share what i know re background info about the act or how I came across the song or my copy of the record. I thought it would be cool idea to put together a mix of some of the funk, disco and soul songs i posted on my FB wall in 2017. I didn't double check but i think most of these were posted last year, not that it matters.  There's some killer tunes in this mix, some are things i've loved since they came out in the early 80s whilst others i only discovered in the last 6 months. I hope you find something you like.
