With release nr. 11, Luv Shack Records are once again eager to exalt the diversity of their releases, while keeping up the quality.

LUV011 is the split EP of the two up and coming electronic music duos "Manhooker" and "Space Echo". Whilst both projects are still relatively new to the scene, they have equally made a stir with their first releases.

Manhooker consists of the two Berliners by choice Tomasz “Guiddo” Switala and Sebastian “Mavin” Magassouba. Their first release appeared on Ostgut Ton´s sublabel 'Unterton' and their second EP was recently released on german heavy hitters 'Sonar Kollektiv' - a collab with ex New Yorker Snax, featuring a remix by Justus Köhncke.

With 'Pushin & Shovin', Manhooker are once again evoking the spirit of classic soulful house hymns. It's an uplifting mix of 90s organs, filtered arpeggios and thick drums all held together by an acid bassline and Mavin´s shimmering vocals. And not to forget the trumpet solo!

The remix of 'Pushin & Shovin' comes from Brazilian wunderkind ROTCIV (who has already remixed Manhooker on their Unterton release). He strips off the smoothness of the original in favor of a more raw and analogue vibe. Its groove seems like a merger of modern electro and classic house, and although ROTCIV´s trademark stabs and pads are used quite ecstatically on this remix, the song structure remains just as strong as in the original.

On The flipside we have Space Echo, the duo of Viennese producer caTekk and (Luv Shack`s very own) Lee Stevens. Their first ever production as a duo was a remix for none other than Austra on Domino Records.

They're offering two equally powerful cuts on the B-side; 'Soul Power' is nothing short of a club burner. A mighty and continuously building ride of funk organs and disco drums, all with a delightfully modern touch. When the vocal kicks in for the first time, ringing in the break, the audience will surely fall into a frenzy when exposed to it! The disco guitars are just the icing on the cake.

'Soul People' takes a slightly more sensual path. Expect dreamy rhodes, dubbed out percussive organs, an almost reggae worthy bassline, a painfully sweet vocal hook and a sharp rhythm that make this track a perfect choice for every warmup, after-hours and daytime set!

With all its ingredients, LUV011 will provide something for everyone who loves electronic music with soul!

Israeli producer Nenor delivers a 4-tracker of impeccably produced dancefloor weapons for his second outing on Razor-N-Tape. Since releasing on Moodyman’s legendary Mahogani label a few years back and as part of duo Rabo & Snob, Nenor has been honing his craft in the studio, and now puts his skills on full display on an EP that ranges from the poppy disco house of “How Can I Be Free” to the deep Larry Heard-esque textures of “Do You Remember,” and the gritty underground bangers of  the title track and “Work That.”  He did indeed take his time on this beautifully crafted record, and the result is something quite special.

After a barnstorming, blistering debut with us on Sprechen, Danny Russell & Ronald Christoph return with a follow up of more shoulder jerking & body shuffling inducing selections of chopped up disco house grooves on 'The Love Rescue E.P.'

Disco edits done right are the order of the day here across these 3 tracks, Love Rescue is one for the double handclap and group sing-a-long crew with snappy horns & rapid guitar strums alongside some clever rearrangement by the guys which makes this a big number!

'You Can Do It' defo jumps out of the disco and into the house...specially selected 2 bar & 4 bar loops with a stomping kick drum and a dub delay drenched vocal break resulting in a straight up peak time floor filler that wears its Roulé influence firmly on its sleeve.

'Night Dancer' boards the train to Italy and goes straight to Baldelli's Cosmic Club in all its arp synth glory. Add to that some smarmy little synth stabs & various other dubbed out cuts here & there before a HUGE vocal breaks right through and cements this one as an absolute banger!

British Producer and DJ Danny Russell has a long standing love with the sound we call House.

Graduating from the school of ‚03 and the dance floor of Manchester’s legendary Sankeys Soap. He’s been steeped in dance music culture since those heady days –a digger and disco lover who went on to gain a degree in sound engineering and make his own music with impressive results.
  
With a reputation for creating disco-fried, deep house grooves that hit the sweet spot with dancers and club aficianados alike. Danny lives and works out of Berlin these days. 

Making notable releases for the likes of Defected who signed his 2018 hit ‘Watchin Out’ alongside Dirty Channels, turning it from a vinyl No.1 and Mixmag’s Tune of the Month, into a club monster and Spotify smash with well over 3 million plays. Picked up and played by taste-makers such as Dan Shake, Josh Wink and Giles Peterson and finding him new fans in Spiller, Sam Devine and Kevin Saunderson.

Danny’s ‘Love Rescue’ release on Sprechen was one of Craig Charles (BBC6 Music) best tracks of 2020 and included it in his 100 tunes of all time.

Musically, Danny covers everything from upfront disco edits to jacked-up house grooves and is signed to the likes of  Defected, Paper Recordings, Midnight Riot, Athens of the North and more. His hits have translated into gigs across the world including sets at the 50th Pride Anniversary in New York City, Word of Mouth in Ibiza, underground institution Pygmalion in Dublin and rooftop clubs in Havana, Cuba. And since moving to Berlin in 2012, he’s become a regular headliner at the city’s best clubs including Watergate, Renate, King Size and Neue Heimat.

He currently holds down three new Berlin residencies, and has upcoming international gigs as well. With more releases to come and a habit of creating big tunes that resonate long after they’ve been released, expect to hear a lot more from Danny Russell in the near future.
