Some more Mexican music on Quintessentials! This time from long time buddy 4004, another driving force in Mexico and already an established producer with releases on labels like Freerange, Faces, Vicario Ltd or Quintessentials. Mostly doing stuff on his own, Quintessentials 56 features a great collab track with Stuttgart’s Stylus Heat (currently working as Blunted Monks on Philpot). I’m not sure if we find 4004 reasons to like you Gerardo, but there are definitely two: you’re a cool fella and we love your music - simple as that!

We're back again with our buddies @toytonics and next up on the roster is Frenchman @mangabey-1 with his wobbly synth funk track 'Purple Gutter'. As you'd expect with a TT release the beats are tight, deep and full to the brim with groove. The synths are rich, funky & have just the right amount of modulation. File this baby in the ever growing folder of set staples from the unstoppable German label.

Dimitri from Paris & DJ Rocca on Toy Tonics!? Some might wonder, other will understand. The reason: Toy Tonics records is made by the same guys who used to run the (currently sleeping) indie disco label GOMMA. And Dimitri & Rocca did a couple of EPs on Gomma some years ago. 

Now it’s 2019 and some of their older works sound still/again so fresh that it made sense to release them again on Toy Tonics. That’s why you get this package.  Three jams perfectly for the summer: The ultra 1990ies house remix for Italian duo Hard Ton. Then their all time disco superjam Ero Disco Theme and the long time sold out and currently highly looked for Ray Mang remix of Dimitri’s collabo with band Los Amigos Invisibles. That "Glad to know you" version goes for a lot of $$$ on Discogs, so why not put it out again. Have fun with Dimitri & Rocca. Old school house and disco dream team.

Dropping next week on ace German label @Footjob @hans-nieswandt & @eric-d-clark's 'Protest Disco EP' is a breath of fresh air as a socially conscious release which stands out beautifully amongst all the throwaway music which appears and then disappears on virtually the same day.
