AFRO FUTURISM #6 (Afro House/Afro Tech)

The journey continues, but this time, we descend into the depths of Africa, exploring a darker side to the sound. 

This set was recorded in an ancient cave, I could feel its raw energy vibrating through the stone around me. A sacred space, untouched by time, where echoes of history whispered through the walls.

The deeper you go, the more the music becomes your guide. Afro Tech was the chosen path.. aggressive, raw, and unrelenting. Heavy drums echo through the cave, flickering synths cut through the darkness, and the energy shifts into something almost ritualistic. It’s a journey through shadows, where every beat pulls you further into the heart of Afrofuturism.

Turn the volume up. Let it take you.

This is a mix to feel in every part of you.
A space to release anger, to move through whatever you’re holding on to... to sweat it out, let it go, and come back stronger.

This isn’t a battle of violence... this is a battle of presence.
Of stepping fully into your energy. Into your body. Into your power.

This has to be one of my favourite mixes I’ve created so far.. it speaks directly to my soul, to the warrior within me. The afrotech bass cuts deep, while the progressive melodies carry you through it all, holding you in that higher space.

I recorded this barefoot on the beach... grounded, connected to the earth... as the sun was setting over the ocean. Every drop, every chant, every beat was felt before it was shared.

Welcome to Chapter 9 of Afro Futurism.

It’s been a minute since the last drop.. so I decided to treat you to an extra long set.. pure Afro Tech that just gets harder and harder as the set goes on. It's a proper journey.

This one was different. I tapped into something deeper. I entered some next level flow state and let the music take over my soul. 

I’ve been exploring the synthesis of Afro, electronic, progressive and Afro tech sounds.. and this one really brought it all together. Darker. Stronger. More intense.

I kept a hard Afro tech line throughout the entire mix..
I wanted to push the energy further this time. Something more powerful and hypnotic.

As always, I just want to say thank you.

It’s a dream to be able to do this.. to put my heart into these sets and have people feel it, connect with it, dance to it.

I recorded this one right on the beach.. barefoot, connected, with the sun setting in front of me and a powerful sound system vibrating through my body. The energy was unreal. And the deeper the sun dipped, the harder the music hit. Pure power.

Lex Laurence is quickly establishing himself as one of the most exciting new names in Afro House coming out of Spain.

A DJ, producer, singer, and songwriter, Lex brings a unique sound shaped by his diverse cultural background.. born to English and Russian parents while being raised in Tenerife, where European, Latin American, and African influences all unite. His music blends cultures from all over the world with progressive electronic afro house rhythms.

Known for his ability to read the room and guide the mood with precision, Lex has been described as a “vibe alchemist”, someone who doesn’t just play music, but transforms energy through it.
