Ian Boddy has been at the forefront of the UK electronic music scene since 1983 when he both performed at the very first UK Electronica Festival in Milton Keynes and released his first vinyl album The Climb.

In the 4 years preceding this event he had been experimenting at an Arts Council funded studio in Newcastle whilst at University. His early work resulted in 3 cassette only releases on the Mirage label as well as several local concerts. These early tapes showed Boddy gradually forming his own style through a long self teaching process in the techniques of analogue synthesis and tape manipulation.

After the success of 1983 he went on to release another 2 vinyl albums, Spirits and Phoenix, as well as performing several concerts throughout the UK. However it wasn't until 1989 that his first CD release, Odyssey, came out on the EM label Surreal to Real. After Drive, his second release on the Surreal label Boddy formed his own record label, Something Else Records , through which he released a further 4 solo albums as well as reissuing his 3 early vinyl albums and the cassette only release Jade on CD. Furthermore he released three collaborative CD releases with some of Europes finest exponents of EM, namely Andy Pickford, Ron Boots and Mark Shreeve.

He continued to expand his concert appearences which have now surpassed over 100 events with concerts in the UK ( including several more UK Electronica appearances, two shows at the Jodrell Bank Planetarium & two at the National Space Centre), Holland ( five festival appearances ), Germany and three shows in Philadelphia, USA.

Alongside these mainstream EM activities Boddy has also built for himself a formidable reputuation as a sound designer having produced a series of sample CD's & virtual instruments for sampling specialists Time & Space. In late 2008 Boddy set up his own downloadable sample CD company with the Waveforms series of sample packs. Furthermore he is also involved in library music having composed 11 such CD's for the publishing company deWolfe as well as producing some music for a computer games company.

Thus we come up to the present with the formation of his DiN label in 1999. Unlike his private Something Else Records the DiN label was set up to allow Boddy to actively form different collaborations with a wide variety of musicians as well as release other artists music. DiN has achieved widespread critical acclaim for it's adventurous outlook at the world of EM and has seen 39 releases with Boddy being involved in 21 of these ( five solo and sixteen collaborative projects ). 

In 2008 DiN expanded it's catalogue with a series of download only releases featuring Boddy in concert both as a solo performer and with other DiN artists.

I am an electroacoustic composer who specialises in acousmatic works and sound installations. My works also incorporate interaction, soundscape, improvisation, multichannel surround, sound design and live performance elements. I have an MA in electroacoustic composition and sonic art from Liverpool Hope University. I am currently conducting a practice-based PhD in electroacoustic composition, exploring the concept of ‘homage’ as a device and approach within compositional practice, specifically to highlight and celebrate the music and output of forgotten early women electronic music composers. I also design and deliver sound-based workshops for participants to learn how to compose with sound.

My work has been performed across the Northwest including venues such as the Capstone Theatre, Congleton Town Hall, The Royal Northern College of Music and across Halton Libraires venues (Ditton, Widnes, Runcorn, and Halton Lea Library). My compositions have been featured on the radio, most recently on BBC’s Merseyside’s ‘Folkscene’ programme. I was also a finalist for Liverpool City Region Culture and Creativity ‘Impact Award – Health & Wellbeing’ (2021), for my immersive interactive audio-visual sound installation ‘dɪsˈlɛksɪə ˈɡeɪtweɪ (dyslexia gateway)’, which highlights the dyslexic’s perspective.

The “electronic brain” is the brainchild of Los Angeles based producer David Christian, who has made himself a name with numerous live shows in North America and Europe at important festivals like Schlagstrom, Wave Gotik Treffen, Planet Myer Day, and Elektroanschlag. The prolific musician has produced remixes for the likes of KMFDM, Leæther Strip, Wumpscut, and Terrorfakt on labels Industrial Strength, Metropolis, Dependent, and Alfa Matrix.  There have also been also been well-received releases on HANDS Productions, Crunch Pod, and Rustblade.

My 33 1/3 series book about the Aphex Twin album <i>Selected Ambient Works Volume II</i> was published in 2014. The book was one of the top 5 bestselling titles for the calendar year, and in 2015 was ranked by Pitchfork as one of the "33 best" of the 100-plus books in the 33 1/3 series. It has subsequently been translated into Japanese (2019) and Spanish (2018)

Since 2012 I have moderated the Disquiet Junto group, which began on SoundCloud. More at disquiet.com/junto. 

I've written for Nature, Pitchfork, The Wire, Down Beat, Boing Boing, NewMusicBox, Red Bull Music Academy, Art Practical, the website of The Atlantic, and many other publications. 

I've exhibited sound art at galleries in Los Angeles (Crewest), Manhattan (apex art), and Dubai (DUTAC), and I had a audio-visual installation at the San Jose Museum of Art as part of its 45th anniversary.

And since 1996 I've run the website Disquiet.com about the intersection of sound, art, and technology.

NOTON – founded by Carsten Nicolai as a small imprint in 1994 – began its activities in 1996 with the release of noto’s “spin”. a collaboration with RasterMusic began the same year, and by 1999 the two labels had merged into Raster-Noton. In 2017, NOTON will start working independently again by releasing Alva Noto’s entire back catalogue, and the label is currently planning releases for the future too. Ongoing projects and collaborations include: Noto, Alva Noto, Opto (Thomas Knak + Alva Noto), cyclo. Praxed (b. 1979) is a French musician and visual artist based in Paris, blending classical guitar with modular synthesis to create unique soundscapes since 1993.
Rooted in experimental music, Praxed's work resonates with ambient and free jazz influences. His compositions interweave spacious guitar melodies, noise washes, metallic glitches, and infinite echoes with tape loops and transformative vocal notes, often inspired by Philip K. Dick's philosophical explorations.
Praxed's approach centers on live performance and improvisation, infusing his music with deep emotional content. Each performance is an immersive journey into his perception of reality, inviting listeners to explore intricate layers of sound and emotion.
His latest project, "The Classical Guitar and the Modular Synth Diary," features daily improvised recordings of experimental electroacoustic pieces, showcasing the fusion of traditional classical guitar melodies with avant-garde modular synthesis.
A standout in Paris's experimental music scene, Praxed is known not just for technical prowess, but for evoking profound emotional responses, pushing the boundaries of musical expression with each creation.

I like to be introduced as a "MUSICAL TRAVEL-AGENT".
ONSTAGE I'm mostly playing an Easel K (Buchla Modular Synth) and The Pipe (from SOMA Lab) which allows mouth-synthesis... I also manipulate unique vinyls with my sounds/musics, assaulting turntables to take advantage of the vinyl material to fondle released sounds, raking the needle across the record's grooves, rubbing their stylus on paper, cardboard, metal to process unusual noises and textures. I have a physical relation to my recordings and envision my live sets like performances. 
Gesture is also a very important part of my compositional process... While composing I am also relying on the use of real instruments such as Cymbalom, Pianos, Guitar and Percs that I play like a kid discovering a new toy, improvising and attaching great importance to gesture and stressing dynamics. My moves aren’t consensual, not cozying up potential listeners. A Punky approach even if throughout the past years I have been following courses of Composition + Electroacoustic Music at the Conservatory, specializing in Modular Synthesis. 
Pushing further my research in bringing together the Human and its Machine into a tapestry of sound which creates a deep sound assemblage of exotic Musiques Concrètes which guarantees to grow on you with repeated listens, slowly revealing its detailed richness…

Benjamin Thigpen. Nomad, born in the United States, naturalized in France. After dropping out of conservatory, he studied literature and aesthetics and travelled extensively. He gradually returned to music though electronic composition.

He creates music for loudspeakers – as a composer and as a performing electronic musician. He composes in various European electroacoustic studios (GRM, VICC, EMS, STEIM) and gives concerts throughout the world. 

He has taught computer music at Ircam (Paris), at the University of Washington (United States), and at the Conservatorio di Cuneo (Italy); he currently teaches at Arts2, in Belgium. 

He has put out two solo CDs – "human for scale" (EMF Media 2005), "divide by zero" (Sub Rosa 2011); a third, "flux," will be released on empreintes DIGITALes in  2017. His music also appears on various compilations. 

He performs in the duo "Rust" with instrument inventor and composer Jean-François Laporte, in "Fluid Identities" with cellist Benjamin Carat, and in "Les Frères Bobine" with composer and electronic musician Stefano Bassanese.

He thinks that music is not a language but a lived visceral experience, and that it is not the art of sound but the art of the transcendence of sound.
