NYC’s Eskuche has produced a new two track EP for Solardo’s ever-growing, ever-popular Sola label. Titled Pop Dat and drawing on his heady underground house sound, the EP sees Eskuche channel his impressive production abilities for two tracks of unadulterated club energy. As 2019 starts to warm up, don’t be surprised to see Eskuche’s tunes gravitate towards every DJ’s must-play list. 

A fast-rising star on the underground dance music circuit in New York City, Eskuche has cemented himself as one of the world’s most exciting up and coming DJs/producers. Sharing his time between NYC and Ibiza, the hyped beat-smith has picked up support across the board from the likes of Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Laurent Garnier, Stefano Noferini, Maya Jane Coles, and more. The support and success Eskuche has experienced over the past few years is hardly surprising: he’s signed records to Hot Creations, Repopulate Mars, Elrow and Nervous Records. He’s also performed at some of the world’s prime clubbing spaces. 

Eskuche’s unique, club-geared vibe lies in his delivery of contemporary sounds, signature grooves and heady beats that all blend together to get subs shaking and bodies moving. Eskuche - Vibration

Our next release on Roushlabel comes from the increasingly popular Bassel Darwish. The Distance Music frontman has amassed an impressive amount of high-quality labels on reputable labels over the last few years and his own label is really picking up momentum too. His 'Bring Down' EP consists of two big originals and a remix from Madrid-born producer FreedomB. The title track opens the release with a sophisticated groove. Built around a weighty sub bassline and an undulating beat with a subtle level of vocal presence, it finds itself in amply sufficient vibe building territory and would suit daytime terrace atmospheres perfectly due to it's stripped back and 'easy to move to' approach. Next up, 'Code' takes things up a few gears in the energy department. An uptempo stripped back dancefloor pleaser, carrying with it a rumbling low-end, hooky vocal and finespun melodic presence. Another quintessentially groovy number with more underground intensity, perfectly capable of cranking up the heat in the peak hours of any party. Last but not least, FreedomB's remix of 'Code'. Keeping the focus on the track's ambience, the substituted bassline and clever use of hypnotic effects in the transitional phases give it a completely new identity. Not too dissimilar to the original, but, at the same time presenting standout differences which make for an enjoyable new experience of something that was already highly engaging... clever work from an intelligent creator! Boxia Drops His Debut Album ‘A Night In The Life Of’ On Drumcode.

A musical portrait inspired by friends. Each track represents a personal memory.

Since breaking through in 2015, Boxia’s music has quickly progressed him into the upper echelons of underground dance music stardom. Quiet and unassuming by nature, his sound is drenched in transcendental atmosphere and evocative soundscapes; making it a perfect meeting place for the warehouse energy of Techno and the intelligent thoughtfulness of Progressive House. 

For all of us, clubbing and nightlife are a myriad of sights, sounds and experiences. With the concept of this album, Boxia has sketched some of the characters he’s met along the way. “I wanted this album to be as much about the people that I’ve met, as it is about me. People I talk to every day; people I only encountered once, and my life long companions.” He says.  

“Each track is inspired by my personal interactions with these people. The quiet but dedicated raver who never leaves their spot on the dance floor. The friend who disappears at every party but always turns up hours later with a huge smile on their face and an amazing story. The chance meeting with a complete stranger who shares your entire outlook on the world. Each track on this album sketches an audio portrait of these characters who have inspired me.”

Over the fourteen tracks, these ‘shared experiences’ take the form of warehouse stompers, melodic soundscapes and delicate, personal moments. More than just a collection of club tracks, ‘A Night In The Life Of’ lifts the lid on a producer with startling range and a razor sharp sonic palette, tapping into his own personal memories to create moments of incredible introspection. 

Take opener and title track ‘A Night In The Life Of’ for example - which marries pounding beats, sparse percussion and Trance-like synth work to form a detailed picture in the minds of its listeners. Boxia takes you on a unique, ultimately uplifting journey with each track utilising texture, tone and emotion. 

After six powerful and musically rich club tracks, the relative calm and broken beat stylings of ‘Give Love Always’ is perfectly placed, showcasing Boxia in melancholy reflection away from the bright lights and buzz of the main stage. Equally, the album’s closing track ‘Last Nightclub’ also benefits from a reflective stance.  

“I have shared experiences with such a diverse and wonderful crowd on both sides of the stage.” Boxia says, “I hope that in listening to this album, people will be able to see themselves, and their friends reflected in the tracks in the same way that I do - as each track aims to build an audio portrait of their identity.” 

Wildly entertaining, deeply personal while being equally personable, this is a perfect snapshot of an artist at time in his life where he’s ultimately at ease with himself and the music he currently excels at making.

After locking himself away in a studio for the past year and a half, The Leeds-born house and garage expert Eliphino has re-emerged with a new, dark and dancefloor savvy sound with his 'Realistic Sex' EP. His first solo release in three years, the five-tracker drops via Meda Fury on May 26.

Eliphino has handed over the cut 'NSPG' ahead of the EP's release - a galloping and jaunty dancefloor tune that curls classic UK sub-bass pressure into the mix when it hits the two-minute marker. Making his debut on Libero this October is Solid Grooves resident and Distance Music frontman, Bassel Darwish. He has built up a solid reputation for high-quality releases on some of the industry’s top labels over the last few years, so we are delighted to add him to our release catalogue. ‘This Is What We Do’ features an original single from Bassel, along with remixes from frontmen Mike Morrisey & Luke welsh and Francesco Squillante.

The Original Mix comes in hot with uptempo energy and swaying rhythm. Bright drums and a huge sub-bass coast along in a wave-like fashion with crisp percussion and hats piercing their way through the main beef of the track. Vocal-driven breakdowns steal your attention with a captivating hook and subtle undertones before punching you back into the beat.

Label bosses Mike Morrisey and Luke Welsh follow up with their spin on the track. Pumping more zip and groove into the original concept with longer buildups and atmospheric, energetic drops. A low-slung, driving bassline paired with uptempo, rolling percussion make it a perfect peak-time driver. About as good of an example of the Libero Sound as you’ll get from the label chieftains.

Squaring things off, Francesco Squillante applies a gritty tone to his mix. A heavy, in your face bassline carries the track and is supplemented by quirky, offbeat samples as well as some additional creative vocal work. A solid display of ‘same but different’ at play here; the sign of a very intelligent, experienced producer.
