With “MINDHELMET 20”, Johannes Kolter cements his reputation as one of the most reliable alchemists of contemporary club music. Whether under his own name or aliases like J.K. Rollin or H.K., the German producer has an uncanny ability to take familiar elements - a sample, a groove, a hook - and turn them into something that instantly feels both classic and addictive. His latest six-tracker for Truly Madly’s revered label MINDHELMET is another showcase of that rare talent, and the B1 cut “Rise TTT” might just be the record’s centerpiece.

Built around the mantra-like vocal “Rise to the top,” Kolter crafts a groove that’s as functional as it is hypnotic. The bassline rolls with that effortless Kolter swing - neither too heavy nor too polite - while a deep, evolving synth line anchors the track’s emotional pulse. Hints of breaks slip in and out, giving the rhythm a loose, kinetic feel, while subtle note repetitions and tonal shifts in the synths add tension and release in perfect doses.

“Rise TTT” never feels cluttered despite its layers. Each sound is placed with intention - from the crisp percussion to the atmospheric pads that seep in just when the loop feels too comfortable. The result is pure late-night propulsion: deep enough for the heads, driving enough for the floor.

Kolter’s work often dances between introspection and impact, and “Rise TTT” is no exception. It’s a track that doesn’t just make you move - it pulls you into its orbit, step by step, until you’re lost in the groove. Another masterclass from an artist who truly knows how to make minimal sound maximal.

Born in Naples in 1992, Davide D’Alessio starts his music experience living as youngster Naples dance and electronic nightlife. In 2014 Davide decides, under his new moniker WILDER, to start his new journey as DJ: his eclectism, alongside his own background made of hours spent listening black music, from funky to soul and R&B and a tremendous passion for electronic sounds, brings him since the very first steps to explore different sounds and vibes melting during his sets in one solution melodic sounds and different rhythms connected to “world” music and tribal vibes with “electric” landscapes based on classic house and minimal-techno reminiscences. An irresistible melting pot that it will make you dance for sure, a unique and catchy as well sound. Combined with his natural dynamism, Wilder’s sound soon brings him under the lights of the most important underground clubs and realities of Naples and beyond: after reaching success in his area with “Hype” project, Wilder manages to show his skills and style and internationally playing his club in the world. Wilder is active DJ resident at Radical parties a great reality in actual Napoli’s nightlife that aims to revolutionize starting from 2018 the way to conceive the word “Party” in the city.

The next release on Libero comes from highly-regarded duo Murphy’s Law, as they make their way back to the label with an EP of their own following a largely successful remix earlier this year. Joining the Leicestershire tag-team on their ‘Feel Alright’ EP is the ever-popular Joseph Edmund, who features on remix duties.

Opening the release, the title track fuses an intriguing mixture of signature rolling Libero Sound with a late-night house tip. Essentially a terrace groover, but with added layers of sophistication and character - not to mention a subtle hint of acid-influence. The Murphy’s Law brothers have a rippling percussive presence to a lot of their productions, which in this case allows the uptempo bassline to ricochet off it - creating roaring low-end energy from start to finish.

Following up with an impressive readaptation, Joseph Edmund’s remix of ‘Feel Alright’ takes a more stripped-back and minimalist approach. Seemingly gliding along from start to finish, the track finds itself in the progressively building category. Another percussive-centric terrace style track with bags of undulating momentum to add to the Libero collection, built on a bed of cleverly mixed layers and interesting hardware additions. Exactly what we have come to expect from one of Manchester’s most talented artists - creativity in abundance.

Closing the release, ‘Back Up’ dives a little deeper. Focusing predominantly on the melodic end of the spectrum, the track has an essentially tribal feel to it. Scaling up through the energy levels in each section of the track, it’s as creative as it is movement-inspiring. Quirky and creative at its core, it offers an attention-grabbing curveball for any hour of the party.

Manchester-based imprint Libero Records is quickly becoming a staple in the diet of many underground tech-house appreciators. With a stripped-back approach and rhythmic grooves teeming throughout their already blossoming catalogue of releases, it’s easy to see why the label’s exposure is growing at an exponential rate.

Building around a focus on percussive, minimalist tech-house inspired by concepts like the infamous Music On and artists like Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Paco Osuna and many more; Libero’s ethos is centred around the rolling soul of underground dance music.
