Frame Music unleashes its first release of 2023, welcoming London-based Gabski with his ‘Closing Doors’ EP featuring remixes from Bastian Bux, Bastidas and Karim Soliman.

Bloop London resident DJ/Producer Gabski makes an impressive debut on London-based underground imprint Frame Music with a stellar offering of two freshly squeezed subterranean cuts on his ‘Closing Doors’ EP. Bolstering the package’s immersive delights, remixes from Elrow’s Bastian Bux, South American talent Bastidas and Rotterdam’s Karim Soliman provide stylistic spins on the originals.

Opening with the title cut, ‘Closing Doors’ sees Gabski serve up the first slice of deep dubby rolling grooves spread across the EP. Punchy drum work and subtly shuffled percs pierce through the track’s lucid melodic layers and hypnotic vocal arrangements to carve out a rising late-night cut built for darkened basements and after-hours settings.

Bastian Bux follows with a chunky take on the original, introducing swinging rhythms and an instantly catchy bassline melody from the outset. Flooding the mix with quirky synth shots, playful fills and cleverly chopped use of vocals, it’s an upbeat rendition that masterfully retains its predecessor’s underground feel.

The second of two originals from Gabski, ‘Presence’, delivers another undeniably unique offering with an unparalleled persona. Filled with dream-like Jazzy runs and idyllic sounds of nature throughout, its combination of hollowed-out kicks, rolling Romanian-inspired minimal grooves and sirenic vocals will leave you in a cloud-like trance from start to finish.

Bastidas comes next, providing a stripped-back take on ‘Presence’. With an intensifying emphasis on the original’s melodic components and the jittery processing of the vocal arrangement, he brings even more movement to the mix whilst adding deepened resonance to the track’s standout features.

Karim Soliman rounds off the release with another stylistic swing at ‘Presence’, showcasing a uniquely avant-garde depiction of Gabski’s work. Featuring a wave of subtly driving instrumentality and a reface of the track’s captivating vocals, its pleasantly moody combination of plucked bass tones and gliding sonics make for the perfect after-hours crowd-pleaser.

Gabski’s ‘Closing Doors’ EP is out 6th January 2023 on Frame Music.

Libero Records head Dan Costello steps up with All About House EP (LBR093), a statement release that captures the essence of the label’s groove-driven ethos. The title track, “All About House,” is a stripped yet infectious roller, powered by crisp percussion, hypnotic low-end, and a strong vocal accent - a pure dance-floor weapon. Its B-side, “Don’t Stop Me,” keeps the formula tight but adds a slightly more driving edge, pushing the energy into peak-time territory. On the remix, rising talent Omari injects a deeper flavour, reworking the original into a late-night cut with slick drum programming and atmospheric flair.
As label boss, Dan Costello continues to set the tone for Libero’s output, and All About House EP is a perfect showcase of the balance between raw energy and refined minimalism that defines the imprint.
