Ben Weber is a self-proclaimed sound-anarchist. Catchy melodies, jazzy funk and dreamy melancholia embedded in well-structured arrangements and airy beats define his sound.  His influences stem from his youth where he was mesmerised by punk, metal, funk and wave. Here, on the extremely versatile LMF014 ‘The Streets’ four original productions in collaboration with Phable and Alex Eilers are being showcased alongside two remixes by Low Steppa and WD2N.	

While ‘Castle in the Air’ convinces thanks to its laid-back charm, rolling percussion and sun-drenched guitar licks, ‘Unconditioned Love’ presents itself as a deep midnight chugger with a Balearic vibe, epic chords and emotional strings, all complimented by Phable’s stunning voice. ‘Nineties’ and ‘The Streets’ together with Alex Eilers are more forward, with the former paying homage to the classic Jersey house sound and the latter channelling 80s synth-pop within a deep house context. As for the remixes: Low Steppa rebuilds ‘Castle in the Air’ on a robotic UK garage groove for his peak-time bomb, whereas WD2N enhances the melodious aspects of ‘Unconditioned Love’ on his interpretation.

The anonymous and up-and-coming Weiss returns for the release of the highly anticipated ‘Weiss City Vol 2’.

Bursting onto the scene earlier this year, the illusive Weiss has already captured the imagination of producers, press and the public alike with his inspiring take on old school house. The first in this series of EPs, ‘Weiss City Vol 1’, garnered support from the likes of Shadow Child, Ninetoes, Pleasurekraft, Noir, Bontan, Groove Armada and more, with ‘My Sister’ gaining airplay on B-Traits’ Radio 1 show and successfully taking over the Beatport deep house chart at No.3. Now Weiss returns to take the ‘Weiss City’ series a step further.

‘Weiss City Vol 2’ establishes Weiss’ take on house, as he presents three stand out tracks with his trademark punchy old school drums, deep rumbling bass and clever vocal hooks.
Leading the charge ‘If I Ever Dance’ is destined to follow on from ‘My Sister’, taking over the more underground dance floors, propelled by an unforgettable groove and soulful vocals.
With a simple and sweet melody alongside an unforgettable vocal, ‘Devil In The Sky’ is one for classic house enthusiasts wrapped in the classic M1 organ.
Finally, ‘Ghetto Boy’ takes us deeper and darker for an after party feel; it’s all about the groove.

On the next Light my Fire release, ‘Try’, Borka & The Gang serve up three thunderous tech house tracks that marry grooving garage drums, funky bass-lines and areal synths. Little is known about the mysterious Borka and his gang as they prefer to let their productions speak for themselves, yet their maiden release hints at some serious studio knowledge. Title track ‘Try’ is a straight up party bomb, consisting of cheerful key stabs and a tough, tech-driven bass-line framed by jacking percussive elements. Next up, ‘Lose Track’ seems built for a more laid-back mood as the looped vocal hook and deep sub-bass are lifted by elevating synths. Lastly, ‘Ouh’ is classic 2-step with its grooving rhythm and slightly melancholic vibe.

Hot off the back of debut chart smash ‘So Freakin’ Tight’ that jumped high into the official chart earlier this year, UK duo Tough Love are back to present their brand new single alongside R&B legend Ginuwine with the remake of the 1996 classic and chart smash ‘Pony’ out on 7 August.
 
‘Pony (Jump On It)’ is a one of a kind release, seeing the R&B legend re-record his vocals on this massive classic, it feels as though this could be even bigger than before. It sees Tough Love bring the original firmly into the contemporary dance arena and features fresh, updated vocals from Ginuwine to boot.
 
With over twenty years in the game as a multi-platinum selling artist with 10 studio albums and multi Grammy nominations, Ginuwine is one of the genres greats. KANT translates to "edge" from Danish, referring to something unconventional, exciting and new, which doesn’t immediately fit inside a box and dares to be different. These characteristics perfectly sum up the music of young Copenhagen producer Joachim Schaarup-Jensen. After causing waves with releases on Katermukke, Suara and Kittball, we welcome KANT to Light my Fire with the excellent ‘Switch’ EP. 	

The title track ‘Switch feat. Anne Kim Thordson’ is a chugging house monster that focuses on a seductive female spoken-word accentuated by heavy hits, ominous synths and a pumping kick drum: reduced, yet lethal. Next, ‘Shook’ is more laidback as it revolves around a tropical Balearic theme with impressive flow. Mat.Joe sure had an impressive breakthrough ride last year including worldwide recognition, endless touring schedule and an impressive catalogue of tracks and remixes including acclaimed eps in OFF which quickly scouted them as core artists. 2014 started as busy as expected for the Berlin duo, with tracks and remixes in Suara, Stil Von Talent and our own 5 year talent compilation. Hot as they are, we thought this was a good time for another EP, and they delivered an impressive pair of floor movers with their usual versatility and good taste.
"Way Too Bad" shows their sampling skills with a rolling groove full of soul that swirls nicely over funky drums and a killer bassline. 

On the b side, "Brighton Beach" shows a deeper, thoughtful escapade, with synth keys and arpeggios slilding into a big boom bass creating an uplifting vibe for a very special time in the night. 

Both tracks capture the essence of Mat.Joe while being perfect tools for different moments and feelings. Another true gem from the OFF camp!

Dino Lenny wrote the original record thinking about a couple he once met in New York. This couple was rather particular as the man, who was in his mid forties, loved shiny vinyl shoes, Soul Black Music and women. His wife knew all of this but just kept on hoping he would have eyes just for her at some point. She lived day by day, worked at a local cafe and waited for something magic to happen.
Luckily they had something very poetic in common: their favourite record.
When this same record appeared to be the key in the magic moment the wife had been waiting for, a beautiful story awaited the two. They lived the rest of their days just as if they jumped out of their favourite song.

With this beautiful and original back-story, Exploited is proud to present 2 new remixes. Sander Kleinenberg’s reshuffle we just couldn’t resist to release. So we will spare you the words and suggest you just have a listen.

Joshi Mami’s take on the track is just a bit deeper without losing the poetic background and vocals. Even though the original story takes place in New York this remix brings you to a fast car drive on the Miami highway at night.
