Ooh boy what a fun set this was! Slotted in at 2AM during The Brink's takeover of Collective Delusions, and the only Synthwave artist on the lineup. I did my best to bring some of the best new (and some classic) synthwave across a style of sounds and show 'em we're more than just a youtube playlist ;)

Mad shoutouts to Collective Delusions for throwing an amazingly diverse party and the opportunity to play on an incredible stage in front of an open minded and loving crowd. And to The Brink of course for being the driving force in supporting both me and the diversification of music in the underground music scene. I wouldn't have had an opportunity like this without you.

Right after hearing the first Dubstep tracks in 2006 I bought two turntables, a mixer and a handful of vinyl. Technical equipment, skills or music genres may have changed but the love for music with lots of bass still remains 12 years later.
So after playing numerous DJ gigs in Germany and organising parties in Berlin I now manage my own vinyl imprint "Through These Eyes", which focusses on Drum & Bass and Jungle music, but you can always hear influences from genres like Hip Hop, Footwork or Dubstep in it.

This mix was inspired by the early days of urban electronic music, specifically Breakbeat!  The underground flame of inspiration from B-Boys and B-Girls during this Era was shaped by the DJ's and MC's of the time.  It is a cultural phenomenon that has been idolized in feature films such as Breakin' from 1984.  Join me on this journey as we revisit those old-school sounds and samples in a whole new way!
