Med School signing and prodigious Welsh talent Lung has made a conscious decision not to indulge in passing trends and the temptations of throwaway internet culture, instead putting quality firmly before quantity and delicately crafting his spectacular debut album "Wait Less Suspense".

Showing off some adept production and song-writing skills, he expertly weaves cerebral drum & bass with experimental electronic music, garage and house beats across the 14-track album. The release also features some highly talented collaborators from a variety of musical backgrounds, whose contributions perfectly compliment and enhance the diversity of music on offer. These include ethereal electronic producer Phaeleh, fellow Welsh songstress Rachel K Collier, indie/folk duo Paper Aeroplanes and Ukrainian drum & bass talent Sunchase.

“People on the Ground” explores through the obscure yet brilliant sounds of one of Sydney’s most talented exports for a haunting and hypnotic take on drum & bass. Title track features the captivating vocals of Hannah Joy and moves through melodic, piano foundations before catapulting into a euphoric whirlwind of sounds and styles making way for mania to come.

There are the sudden, schizophrenic switch-ups of “Give Me the World” and “I Saw the Face of a Person” that highlight Royalston's unpredictable style. His game of guesswork keeps things exciting and exhilarating throughout with influences of techno, house and trance all enticingly tangled into dirty drums and deep bass. “The Wrath of Mr Sparkles” and “Don’t Give Me Up” are not to be taken lightly, unrelenting and unrestricted to any musical parameters.

When he’s not writing drum & bass Royalston pursues his other passion of illustration, which he’s made full use of in this project, with the intricate detail in his music replicated in the artwork he solely designed.
The "People on the Ground" LP accelerates Royalston from his previous album "OCD", whilst keeping to his unorthodox approach to production mashing and merging genres into one crazed counterpart.

To close off the Red Seal series, one of it's frequent artists returns with 4 tracks of 170BPM techno. Created around the time the Grey Area sound was coming into it's full fruition, these tracks show perfectly what has led to the cracking of the rhythmic code to link the 170 bpm tempo perfectly with a true techno aesthetic.

February 2016 sees the 3rd anniversary of Houndstooth, and the label mark this with their 50th release. ‘Tessellations’ is a compilation of brand new, exclusive tracks from each of the 14 artists to release on the label.

The release serves to simultaneously trace common threads and highlight tensions within such a stylistically expansive roster.

Presented on a double CD and digitally, ‘Tessellations’ charts a path from Guy Andrews and Aïsha Devi’s widescreen soundscapes and the offbeat electronic pop of 18+ and Snow Ghosts, through the analogue 4/4 pulse of Marquis Hawkes and Shift Work, to Akkord and Special Request’s visceral re-imagining of hardcore.

Tracks from Call Super, Throwing Snow and Second Storey occupy those hard-to-define – yet often most exciting – spaces in between, gluing together the selection along with contributions from House of Black Lanterns, Soft as Snow and _Unsubscribe_.
