⫻⫸ The year is... well we don't really know exactly anymore. We stopped using the Gregorian calendar once we needed a specific universal time between citizens of different planets. Now we use T.I.M.E: Time in Measured Entropy. Where we basically use a certain point of chaos as our reference point and then just keep counting it up according to stuff decaying and exploding and everything. I really wish I could explain how measuring how "chaotic" the universe is works, but I've sat through like 3 entire lectures about it totaling 8 hours and I still don't understand. Anyways. Back on topic. The T.I.M.E is 380,686,239. After like way too long, we finally discovered how to change the entire biological structure--and DNA-- of any living thing. Granted, we only allow doing it to sentient life, but theoretically you can turn yourself into whatever the heck you want. Within reason. Your .lyf file has to be approved in order for doctors to even let you touch a BAM (biological alteration machine). Despite this, people still think this is dangerous and we shouldn't be doing it, but like come on what's the worse that could happen? People become werewolves or something? Well good for them.

Also yes, I am aware it's kinda weird how I'm able to talk about these things from the future to people from the Grounded era, but like you wouldn't understand anything going on otherwise. Also Grounded era is the time when Earth citizens still were *only* living on Earth, and didn't have contact with non-earth citizens.

Thank you Lorespoiler for the ominous lore introduction. This is -lightningpig now btw. It's finally done! This is my most high effort music project to date by a LOT. The thing is, this is really just a project within a project. This album is the start of something much bigger than I've ever done, and bigger than a lot of you have ever seen. And you know how most music projects with some kind of story have it kind of hidden or hard to follow along with? Yeah I'm not doing that. It's less like music that has a story, and more like a story done through music. Pursuing this project will probably limit me somewhat in terms of my theming, but that's something I'm more than willing to do because what's coming next...

This time around, I decided to really take the gloves off and do something different. I went for a mix of upbeat dance and melodic bass. Hopefully you'll hear how I incorporated the melody in a unique way and took advantage of large sections to make it feel like a cohesive track.

⨵ We've finally found out how to change our biological structure, including genetic material, entirely. The process is extremely complex and involves sound waves, ASI, and a heck ton of nanobots. But it's surprisingly simple to set up the machine itself. So basically, we don't even have to be humans anymore.

Honestly I'm extremely proud of how this turns out, and I think it serves as a great introduction to this world I'm creating with my music. Also my first time actually singing in a song of mine!

⨵ I’m… so sorry to say… but he… he wasn’t able to escape. We only have a limited number of escape ships and the collapse was so… unexpected. Current working theory is that there was just too much electromagnetic pollution and a lot of radiation waves just pointed at the star at once, making a kind of invisible laser. We think. Maybe. It’s a really weird theory that doesn’t seem like it should work, but… it is what it is…

Anyways, I started making this immediately after finishing this one music production summer camp that Asaniel found and lovingly (but platonically) dragged me into! This is *very* rhythm game inspired but I also did my own thing a lot of the time.

⨵ One of the hardest challenges in making enzyme-like nanobots was the ability to change stuff on the lagging strand, since you kind of have to work backwards. The thing is we even have to leave gaps in just the right way for ligase to actually do its thing.

This song is kinda the entire reason this album exists in the first place! I learned about okazaki fragments in biology class and thought to myself "that sounds like a rhythm game and/or rhythm game influenced song" so I got the idea to make it into an actual song, but then I also remembered this whole concept I made about biological alteration that fits into this huge storyline I'm making. So, I made a whole EP that turned into an LP based entirely on that! Hands down my best rhythm game music I've ever made. Actually we. Asaniel COOKED with melodies and sound design. testing testing… yep it works. Alright. So. I’m here to talk about the state of the world right now. It’s, supposedly, pretty great. We, as a society, finally just figured out how to truly be ourselves. By… not being ourselves, I guess. I think the reason it took us this long is we were too focused on other stuff like dyson spheres and battling the resource crisis because of said dyson spheres. And I mean we still haven’t solved it, and dyspheres still are way too expensive to produce, but I mean I guess figuring out how to become literally anything is cool and all. But to be honest, *reverse glass* I don’t think it’s gonna work out. *intensity picks up* I mean, humans, by nature, aren’t really the best at being good people. If it wasn’t for IPSA we probably would have been still using atomic bombs and mega lasers. I mean, who’s to say that nobody’s gonna find a way to use CRISPR for the worse? I mean, you can be anything now. Someone’s gonna end up being a monster some way or another. Regardless, this is the world we live in. For better or for worse, this is altered life.
