Chrysalis 2021- Live Set

I wanted to do this as a livestream until I realized that the wifi where I live probably isn't good enough to support that. So this is a one take mix with a few imperfections that represents some of the higher energy sounds and feelings that have been brewing inside for the last number of months. While the initial FMLRTY mix was recorded when we couldn't do proper events, this is still about being able to connect from quieter spaces and grounded places. 

Recorded on July 14th from the Leq’á:mel First Nation, “the level place where people meet.”

This week's mix comes from a repeat customer, @dirtsqrl. In case his his song selection and mixing skills weren't enough to hook you, he's also sprinkled some unreleased tunes throughout, including one with Island legend Kilbourne!

If you missed his first mix with us, this Vancouver Island based producer & DJ leans towards deep, moody sounds, with a healthy focus on Halftime, DNB, 140, and other bass heavy music. His productions tend to be brooding and emotive, exploring the liminal space between light and darkness. 

Off the stage, he's part of the crew behind Lamplit, helping to create curated and unique events that aim to serve as a platform for art and connection.

Turn up from staycay to slaycay with J.F.Killah’s LiT MIX! This long-time west coast selecta reps @dnbgirls and @shahdjs, and is half of DJ/production duo @levrige along with partner @erski1. So far in 2020 they've released tracks on @deviant-audio and @thedreamersrecordings, and a DJ mix via @footwork-jungle. 
 
J.F.Killah always catches our attention with her multi-genre solo DJing, bouncing through all bpms. Her set at Pastel Party in East Van at The Rattle early in 2019 was so bumpin’, after we dismounted from straddling the speakers we knew we had to ask her to record a LiT MIX. Lucky us her answer was this 40-track trip through dancehall and booty bass, baile funk and footwork-jungle… buckle up!
