A frame is a frame. You can’t say it’s only a quarter.
A Pannenkoek reference is a Pannenkoek reference. You can’t say it’s been done before.
I expect numerous very creative and unique Pannenkoek/ABC/other ABC community members/SM63 references in the comments. How about this one: 8-bit is 8-bit. You can’t say it’s only 7-bit. Or 16-bit. Or GXSCC. …I think that’s enough for now, I’ll continue building up my 8-bit soundfont collection now until I reach QPU BPM in my trial version of FL Studio and record the result with UnregisteredHyperspeedWalkingCam_Softonic.exe.

According to my list™, the DPPt lake legends battle theme should have come next. But because I’m busy with a lot of stuff irl right now I haven’t felt like doing a cover. But I didn’t want to do nothing for yet another month, and when I was listening to music, this song started playing and I immediately felt the desire to cover it. It sounds incredible and is nostalgic, but also very simple, so I could cover it quickly to at least do something and to have some fun without having to focus on a very complex piece. And it was definitely worth the weight, as I did have fun and love the result.

Now for the obligatory dedicated dedication which has become a tradition by now. This cover is, unsurprisingly, dedicated to pannenkoek2012. His videos, skills and knowledge are impressive, fascinating, educational and entertaining. I really recommend checking him out, even if you don’t care about SM64. You’ll learn a lot about the innards of video games.

Nintendo owns the rights to the original song, which was composed by either Toru Minegishi or Shiho Fujii, and can be found in the Wii U game "Splatoon."

This was made with 5 different tracks, 4 melodic and 1 percussive.

Done on Caustic 3.1.2 for Android.

I'm unbelievably happy over the fact that Toru Minegishi and Shiho Fujii managed to outdo themselves with the final boss theme in Splatoon 2 after the first one was such a banger! Soundtrack for an unreleased Game Boy Color game, composed in the year 2000. It was one of my latests soundtracks for Game Boy Color. Unfortunately the game was never published, though it was one of the most amazing racing games ever made for the console!

The first thing I did when I heard Octo Expansion drop was look up the final boss theme and get right away to arranging, but a few gratuitous setbacks here and there had me postpone this to make it the visual spectacle it turned out to be, and I couldn't have done it without @jtangc yet again!!

One of my favorite things of Octo Expansion's soundtrack -- and Splatoon as a whole -- is how strong the recurring motif usage is, like how they build up the final boss theme with the Mission Complete jingle!! Can't expect anything less from the audio team at this point. Hope you enjoy!

A very relaxing piece compared to our last video.. It's my first time working on something this relaxing since most of my work has been fast or energetic tunes, as a result I chose to exclude Pearl's extended rap in the second verse as I felt like it wouldn't work for a track like this. This is the first full-on remix I've made that doesn't sound horrible. Or I think so, anyway.

Ravio's Theme

In the late nineties I did several soundtracks for the games of Velez & Dubail, published by Infogrames. At first I would also do the sountrack for Wacky Races, but they needed a really fast sound driver, as the game would be some of the most advanced ever for the console (just check it, it's amazing). Unfortunately my driver was too slow for what they needed, and writing a new and faster one was far out of schedule and budget.

The tracks you hear are the first test, just to check if the game could deal with the sound driver CPU consumption. The tunes only use 2 channels (+ noise), as one entire channel had to be reserved for the sound of the car engine. They use many stereo effects, so be sure to put your headphones on.

In the end the job went to Manfred Linzner who did a wonderful work.

UEFA 2000 shares some sound flavour to my soundtrack for V-Rally. For Ronaldo I tried to compose something more festive, with some inspiration from my favourite game musician :-)

My first commercial tune for the Game Boy, released in the US as Cool Ball.

The game was only 32k in size (just like Bomb Jack) but very entertaining. It only had this tune and a small jingle for the game over. I was doing the mandatory military service and composed this tune in a weekend off.

I remember how amazed I was about the new possibilities of the Game Boy sound (specially the noise channel and the pseudo stereo), compared to the 8 bit computers I used until then!
