Alex Monk is a musician and producer based in London. Monk draws on influences from the 60s and 70s acid folk movement combined with a curiosity to experiment with ambient music, found sound and electronics. His early CDRs were dominated by a largely instrumental and ambient style, but from his highly acclaimed double vinyl "The Safety Machine" (2011) he moved more into a song based and guitar influenced universe where the raw and improvised encounter the dreamy, psychedelic and ghostly which he extended further with 2013's 'Indiscreet Mirror'. His last release, 2015's concept EP 'Fragments of lost rivers' was a collaborative project with the visual artist John Holt. Monk's work has been compared to everything from Brian Eno and John Balance to Robert Wyatt and Islaja.

Monk has played many shows in venues and festivals in the UK, and across Europe along with a wide range of artists including Damo Suzuki, Will Carruthers, Laetitia Sadier, Rocket Number nine, Sand Snowman, Mark Beazley (Rothko), Jozef Van Wissem, Dora Bleu, and many others. He is currently working on a new solo record and a collaboration with Gavan Kearney/Sand Snowman.

Poetry, Field recording and the More-Than-Human Human

'I use this space to offer an experience of Sonopoetry, the voice of verses combined with field/sound recording.
Writing and composition marked the passage from pre-history to history for human beings. I firmly believe that writing&listening (active care/empathy and full attention to each and every sound from each and every living and non living being) could inform, guide and represent the Posthuman era that I'll call MoreThanHuman Human era -from sapiens sapiens to MoreThanHuman Human.
The contemporary alliance between the disciplines of Art, Science and Philosophy elicits the conceptualisation of the Posthuman that to me also implies the transition from the Anthropocene to the Age of Art as a driver of thought and vision. I advocate the responsibility to assign a 'more than human' meaning to the Posthuman concept, that's why More-Than-Human Human, in order to emphasise the human core and the genetic connection to bio and non-bio diversity as per the Biophilia Hypothesis.

Born 6 January 1972, Ilaria Boffa is an Italian poet and sound recordist. 
She has published four poetry collections and she is one of the eight authors included in the North East American Association publication ‘Writing in a Different Language’ Vol XL 2018.
Over the last years, she has been experimenting with field recording, blending her spoken word with sound.
