Priori (@priori-ties) has always explored a wide range of techno from dense and introspective to more joyous, often against the backdrop of technological possibilities. He hails from Canada and has been prolific since first emerging with two full-lengths to his name on his own NAFF label. They pair dubby undercurrents with crystalline melodies and contain the sort of unresolved tensions that keep you locked in for the ride. This weekend he plays Dekmantel Naarm 2024 but first has served up this new mi for us.

Priori says this is the first dance mix he's done in a long time, adding "It's an hour and a half of fresh rhythms and rave sounds that I recorded while on tour in Australia. It features a few tracks I have been playing a lot lately and some forthcoming bits by myself and some friends." In just over 90 minutes he works through a rollercoaster of deep techno rhythms that are firmly focused on the future and flow as fluidly as water.

For this Smoke mix they created a heartfelt beautiful journey through embracing difference and wanting to belong. A tension between darkness & release guided by warped sonics and melancholic melodies, a musical reflection about floating in between.

Rounding out an electrifying year, Sandwell District deliver a mix that both celebrates Bleep's album of the year End Beginnings and pays tribute to the man who helped them get this far. Silent Servant’s discography is a plentiful one and Sandwell shows it in all its colours, ranging from hissing electro to sputtering microbeats to revolving hardcore throb doused in mysterious ambience. Blissful ripples of soft rounded synth melody slowly flow into rebounding beats and slamming dub synths, transformed into tactile laser pulses and howling gusts of distortion. The predatorily strutting bass stabs of Sterile Hand’s ‘The Hunter’ is stealthy EBM under the cloak of night, contrasted by Tropic Of Cancer’s guitar twangs worked into slick yet turbulent percussive sequences Cabaret Voltaire’s ‘Silent Command’ edited into a jittery, woozy lofi dream.

Albal is a Spanish DJ based between Madrid and Barcelona. Known for her adventurous blends and magnetic presence, she moves fluidly from steamy progressive house to high-intensity bass. A key figure in Spain’s underground scene, she co-founded CHICA (2017), one of Madrid’s first femme-forward, queer-inclusive collectives, and now continues that mission with her new project Girltoy. Her refined taste and energetic sets have brought her to Boiler Room, Primavera Sound, Mutek, NTS, Refuge Worldwide, and clubs across Europe, marking her as a rising force to watch.
