Scan X, real name Stéphane Dri, is a French composer, musician, remixer and sound engineer of electronic music. He is one of the pioneers of the French techno scene.

His career began in 1993 with the release of several EPs on the Fnac Music Dance Division label, then on the legendary F communications label, for which he produced two albums unanimously acclaimed by critics and the public: “Chroma” in 1996 and “How To Make The Unpredictable Necessary” in 2003. Following F Com's mothballing, Stéphane released his productions on various labels (Skryptom, Harthouse, Hertzblut...), followed by a number of original collaborations, and signed the first Volphonie reference in 2017.

Each new composition confirms his maturity and precision in a unique style, blending a deeply cerebral universe with a relentless rhythm section. Many of his tracks are now considered classics. But Scan X is first and foremost a live artist. He was one of the first musicians on the French electronic scene to perform live with machines, and he remains an undisputed reference in this field, one of France's greatest “livers”.

His performances have been acclaimed since his debut, and he has been voted “Best International Techno Live” several times by readers of the French and European specialist press. We're talking here about one of the masters of the genre, among the most discreet but also the most effective. Laurent Garnier is no exception, since Stéphane has been his regular engineer for some twenty years. He accompanied the godfather of French techno on the “Kleptomaniac Tour” in 2009, then on the LBS project, for which he played over 250 dates in 30 countries.

As a solo artist, Scan X has played over 1,200 dates in 40 countries, exporting his music around the world for almost 30 years, playing at the biggest festivals and most prominent clubs (Sonar, Time Warp, I Love Techno, Roskilde, Transmusicales, Berghain, Fuse, Rex Club, Fabric...).
