'made of Concrete' family member Alek S rings in the 5th EP entitled 'Nightdrive', a four-track offering including a remix by Alex Bau. 

Title track 'Nightdrive' carries Alek S’s usual style, a dub-infused slice of catchy, scintillating techno. Alex Bau transforms it into a dark and daring number, filled with cavernous pads and menacing reverbs. 'Fastbreak' makes for a swift intro - steadfast bassline, acid-tinged leads and rave-reminiscing elements all intertwine into a dynamic title. Closing track 'Sunrise' rounds off the release in a composed and easygoing manner.

Dany Rodriguez's 'Brain Picture' originally appeared on his 'Spirit 82' vinyl 12" released on LINK Audio in February and recently featured in XLR8R's Music Submissions Roundup for that month. Now it receives the remix treatment from two of the label's artists, Alexander Kowalski and CYRK.

Alexander Kowalski delivers two interpretations, his cerebral and spacey Synapse Mix which works beautifully as an EP intro and the precursor to his main Remix that pushes Dany's original into melodic Techno realms. Meanwhile, CYRK stay true to the original's Electro elements but deliver a tough punch and retro touch to the vocal components. Also included on the 'Brain Picture Remixes EP' is the original version.

To coincide with the release is the LINK Outdoor Festival on Saturday 7 May in the old military base of Fort de Chaudfontaine in Liège (Belgium), with an all-star LINK Audio line up of Alexander Kowalski, CYRK, Pierre, Dany Rodriguez, Tindra, DJ Xentrix, Alex Sender and Freeman, alongside special guest, Anthony Rother.

WLDERZ

C'est est un duo Techno Parisien formé par Cyril et Jérémy, respectivement Dj et producteurs depuis
la fin des années 90.
Depuis 2016, ils sont Dj résidents du collectif NEWTRACK.
Inspirés par de nombreux artistes de tout genre, dans leurs productions comme sur scène, ils aiment
faire voyager leur auditoire entre sonorités industrielles, rythmes efficaces et mélodies hypnotiques.
Admirés pour leurs Dj set et Live Act pleins d’énergies, les Wlderz se sentent tout autant à l’aise derrière
les platines que derrière les machines.
Anciennement connus sous leur premier Alias, “The Wlderz”, après de nombreuses dates et sorties
entre 2012 et 2016, Cyril et Jérémy décident volontairement de ralentir leur cadence de travail.
Ils décident alors d’amorcer un changement de direction artistique, qui correspond aux émotions qu’ils
ressentent et veulent transmettre à travers leur musique.
Ce désir de nouveau départ, impliquera également l’évolution de leur alias de “The Wlderz” à “Wlderz”
Un beau mélange de Techno et d’Electronica, pleins d’émotions, d’énergie et de sentiments
authentiques, qu’ils transmettront à travers plusieurs EP entre 2017 et 2019 sur le label SKRYPTÖM.
Cette série d’EP sur le label SKRYPTÖM se conclura par la sortie de leur premier album
« SWIMMING IN A PLASTIC OCEAN », qui recevra un bel accueil de la part du public mais également des
acteurs et médias de la scène internationale.
Depuis, les Wlderz sortent régulièrement des EP et REMIXES à l’international sur des labels comme :
JAM , MATERIA, NEW RHYTHMICS ou encore NOIR Music.
En 2021, Les Wlderz travaillent sur leur 2ème album, qui devrait sortir en fin d’année sur le label Skryptöm.
Vivement 2022 et 2023 pour de nouvelles aventures signées WLDERZ...

Ross Harper’s acclaimed recent LP, ‘The Dark Album’ has been supported by a wide range of international press, radio and leading DJs. ‘My Gift’ has been a highlight of several of Richie Hawtin’s sets whilst Charlotte de Witte called it “beautiful”. Sasha, Kölsch, Jennifer Cardini, Maceo Plex, John Digweed, and Skream alongside many others have also been praising the album. 

'The Dark Album' remixes feature handpicked artists Ross Harper personally holds in high regard. 

To put this in a framework, Harper was recently asked in an interview with The DJ Sessions, for his opinion of Ghost Producers and furthermore what we can expect when in the near future tracks are produced by AI? As a DJ, Harper’s answer was simple, it is his job to filter out tracks that do not have feeling, more specifically, Harper is listening for tracks that have heart and soul, in fact Harper’s monthly radio show has the name, “House & Techno w/ Heart & Soul”.

The artists Harper has invited to remix tracks from 'The Dark Album' are producers who have exhibited the anti-thesis of Ghost Producers and AI, they are special individuals who have something that cannot be mimicked, hidden, faked, they have something unique and different that makes them stand out from the chatter.

Harper’s DJ sets are free and boundless, and so this is what fans can expect to hear in the remixes, from rich ambient soundscapes, to driving epic arpeggiated leads, to hard, gritty machine beats, to beautiful textures and softness, all fixed in a diverse cross-range of genres with end results that are almost impossible to tie down and categorise.

In Volume 1 we hear from Cie, Nickon Faith and Roi.

Colonge’s Cie breaks in with a hybrid creation, taking Harper’s bleeps, squeaks and synth choir from 'Something New' and weaving them through intelligent syncopated hypnotic techno grooves, the result is an entrancing tapestry that draws the mind deeper and deeper into the patterns, until suddenly, it all ends.

Manchester’s Nickon Faith fearlessly takes on 'Humanistic Correction' and brings with him an entire intergalactic orchestra of sound. In Faith’s ‘Drifting' remix 'Humanistic Correction' becomes a multi-layered symphonic masterpiece. The first section is led by a wandering melody while contrastingly the second section gives way to a structured arppegio. Harper challenged Faith to develop the second section in a new version, and hence the ‘Epic' remix came to being, with the 'Epic Edit' being a consolidation of the beauty and intensity.

Heralding from Galicia’s coast, Fanzine’s Roi strikes out first with his 'Retro Future' breaks remix of 'The Power of Three', feel the raw power of Roi’s proximity to wild Atlantic ocean in his driving electro baseline that compliments perfectly against the soft, dreamy synths from Harper’s original. Not content Harper nudged Roi again, this time for a 4/4 remix, so, with a hint of something like an early disco classic but adorned with drones and squelchy melodic lines that would be more at home in Jabba The Hutt’s lair then Paradise Garage, the 'Cosmic Disco' remix came to be.
