Like with many creative folk, Robot:86 finds his mind running a muck, jumping from one idea to another, infusing this and that never quite finishing anything, “Battle with Hypermind” is a collection of random experiments mashed together to produced a jungle infused break with mutate hip hop loops. Chucking this out into the world, calms Robot:86’s battle with a hyper mind.

The mesmerizing, shapeshifting interstellar pad intro morphs into a beautifully controlled and ever-growling bass synth to transport us into deep space on an adrenaline-packed mission through an aural asteroid field.
The expansive, almost synthwave-esque soundscapes are interspersed with delicate but pulsating percussive hits and stuttering sonic glitches to take us even further afield into a glittering starfield breakdown.
As we emerge the other side unscathed and uplifted, the growly synth bass returns to carry us home, with detours at the planets of dubby techno and breaks along the way.
An epic voyage that leaves you breathless and spaced out but very much feeling at home with this talented artist.

You find that you are on the same level, have the same connection. You have a great night dancing and raving, having a laugh. A very enjoyable night all round. The sun is up and your all ready to leave, you say your goodbyes. Leave with a great feeling, but for some strange feeling you know you will never see this person again.

Live in the Light sees Robot 86 marry dreamy, off-kilter, and detuned pads with searing drum breaks and jagged yet embracing motifs to deliver an excursion into old skool that feels futuristic and familiar at the same time. Built on a foundation of tape-saturated samples, Live in the Light provides a nostalgia trip that never ventures into rave territory but undeniably got its blueprint from the glowstick heyday of the 90s. As the wonky pad moves off its axis, the warped vocal and rib-tickling sub lets us know we're in for an experience, and that's precisely what this track is for every second of its modest sub-4-minute runtime. The crunchy break picks up the pace and ushers in the first taste of the waspy lead motif, but we never get comfortable as we're taken off again for a closer solo inspection of the thumping break taken up a notch. When the motif returns on top and the carefully curated sub-bass slides back in, it's enough for a near-aural orgasm. Live in the Light is a track designed to inject a large helping of spice into any set and progress proceedings from warm-up to red-hot. Get it in your collection now!
