In Current is the debut album of Yasin Hazim, an artist we have had a friendship with for nearly a decade. His penchant for soul and blues music crisscross throughout the album. The rich cascading layers and flowing piano reflect his classical training growing up in Paris, while the deep grooves give a nod to his rave days in California and late nights in New York. Throughout In Current there is a melodic, dreamlike journey that washes over thick, dusty hand drums & cultural seasonings, paying homage to his Algerian and Moroccan heritage. The album is a smooth and mysterious trip downriver into an abyss of timeless harmony. Funky guitar lines, smoky hot jazz horns and enchanting vocals come together to solidify this very personal album from Yasin Hazim that is a true sonic reflection of the world all around him.

Kalabrese the pleasant Rumpelzampano from Zürich is back with 11 Songs that get under your skin and straight into your hips. Pretty exact a year after the release of "Let Love Rumpel Part 1", part 2 is on the way finally. The follow up is less pop-structures, more trippy and floating, reminding of his debut album "Rumpelzirkus" at times and levelling perfectly between head nodding moments, balearic sounds and massive Kalafunk.

The story of the album naturally continues and bears the hallmark of Sacha Winkler who's not getting tired exploring and experimenting with his music, constantly developing it propelled by his dreams and visions. The Rumpelworld is the core of Kalabrese's work but out of the blue a little surprises poppin' up all of a sudden. The album is not exhausting at all, it comes with ease and leaves some space - like the perfect Panna Cotta or a glass of Merlot.

"SHADY (Pieter De Meester and Maxim Helincks) are one half of the band Stavroz, and 2020 drove them from a frenzied international touring schedule to a period of relative quiet. While other musicians tried to capture the gravity of lockdown, SHADY used their time to cook up joyous prankster music, something refreshingly at odds with the global zeitgeist.
On ‘Your Skin’, the pair channel the wonky surrealism of Connan Mockasin, the understated swagger of Nicolas Jaar’s low end, and the tomfoolery of a Mighty Boosh crimp. The song invokes a carefree future where clubs have reopened and sweaty, raving humans rub bare shoulders on a full-swing dancefloor. ‘I wanna touch your skin’, croon Helincks and De Meester in a cellophane falsetto... well, hopefully soon.
Sydney’s Dreems (aka Angus Gruzman) takes SHADY’s original off-road. The notoriously eclectic co-founder of Multi Culti records delivers a cheeky Balearic take, switching to a major key and adding a lolloping low end while maintaining SHADY’s low-tempo chug. Anyone who appreciates the optimistic psychedelia of Acid Pauli is likely to get drawn into this one.
For his remixes, label boss Uone teams up with his long-time Auckland collaborators Out of Sorts. Between them, they invert SHADY’s colours to produce something deep-hued, with a long bassline that’ll appeal to fans of Silicone Soul and vintage Luke Chable. The vocal remix takes ‘Your Skin’ into late night territory, and the dub remix is a step darker, recalling the Rainbow Serpent Festival dusty dance floor moments."
