Need For Love

"Sketches" is an eclectic playlist of our songs that, like visual artists, served as practice, inspiration for other works, or just a way to let off steam.  The great masters did some of their most honest work in their sketches exactly BECAUSE they were unpolished.   

Rather than letting them languish in the forgotten corners of a hard drive, we thought we'd let these tracks see the light of day. These partially formed ideas still have an unwritten future, but for one reason or another, never found their way back into the rotation of mixing, adding vox, etc. yet.  They may remain here; they may get worked on; they may become our greatest hits. 

The future will tell!

Summer is near and it's time for some synthwave. Featuring solos borrowed & updated from the October & Dagspaztik singles set upon lush, warm, analog synth textures. If you like the rhythm guitar tone, check out Goodnight Song by Tears For Fears and you'll find some familiarity. I've also been listening to a lot of TimeCop 1983, FM84, Mitch Murder and The Midnight lately.

We live in an era of hyper-nostalgia where everything is a derivative of something from the past.  Our art, music, and film are all directly linked to our memories of the past.

Liquid Modern seeks to imbue the nostalgia of the past with the feelings of remorse and sadness that should accompany them. The raw, airy vocals and smooth electronic sounds created by this husband and wife duo of Lord Kojak and Kojette seek to bring emotion into soulless pop tunes. 



Whether it is their reimagining of classic songs or the forward thinking production of their originals, Liquid Modern will not be complacent in one genre as there is a world of musical styles to explore!

Liquid Modern has recently concentrated on creating downtempo electronic covers of 90s pop tunes and stripping away the facades of pop sensibilities to create a more accurate and sustainable view of the past.  A network of influences blend effortlessly through each and every note.
