Composed during the pandemic and recorded at The Bunker Studios in Brooklyn, these 7 pieces combine various themes such as jazz plus tango, the Brazilian Northeast, straight eighth driving pulses, and contemplative moments. The quintet features the colors of the soprano sax and flute with flugelhorn, and also has the traditional pairing of tenor sax and trumpet on the faster funkier pieces. The quintet is Jenny Hill on saxes and flute, Allison Philips on trumpet and flugelhorn, Manu Koch on piano, Eduardo Belo on bass, and Todd Isler on drums and percussion.
