A good traveller has no fixed plans nor any intent on arriving to a final destination. From the first days of the Techno movement to scoring Hollywood films, Holeg Spies is known for breaking norms and creating immersive sonic creations for the listener to get lost in but even moreso to travel around within.
Pagans attempts to take you off the beaten track; to offer an unbridled musical search, unpredictable, a composition performed by an iconoclastic orchestra of classical, electronic and ancient instruments, woven through with improvisations roaming sound recordings... as a possible reconciliation between our hyper-connected society and the environment.
Meeting and spending time with the Hopi Indians and the Mongolian nomads sourced a deep inspiration behind the ‘Axis Mundi Reload’ project, a powerful musical collection to be released early 2022. Pagans is the second EP to be released ahead of the forthcoming album.
With remix collaborations by Pan Electric (aka Matt Coldrick of Green Nuns of the Revolution) and the legendary Total Eclipse, this Ep is truly a journey into another world.

On 2024 Autumn Equinox, I was invited to play at the Muimina label party Chapter 3. The lineup consisted of artists known for their very peculiar kind of psychedelia. So, I refined the search in my personal vault and was able to come up with a selection of tunes to create this unorthodox and abstract psychedelic journey. 90 minutes with artists like LULiO, Makumba, Visual Ears, Myr, Pepe's Bodega, Obelisk, Spore, Priapizzm/Kuupaa, Otistic and more. Some new, some old, and some unreleased stuff in there. It's a sound very fresh to me, and I'm keen to explore this experimental side further.
