Gilbert Le Funk is a DJ, musician and record producer.
 
Starting to compose at the age of 11, he got into music production in the late 90s, greatly influenced by the eurodance and house music of Paul Van Dyk, Bob Sinclar, Armand Van Helden, or ATB. Though later he would spend the day listening to more diverse music, from Stravinsky to Casiopea, Incognito or Frank Zappa, which lead him to learn to play electric bass and trumpet as well as setting up is own studio, where he would first work as a musical arranger for other artists.

In 2005 he was moving away from acid jazz and his label La Musique Fantastique was born, starting his Gilbert Le Funk project by making remixes for labels Delecto (CAN), Catch 22 (NYC) or Transport (SF) as well as playing some of the biggest soulful house music acts all over Spain. In 2006 he produced “Work It Out” for DJ Disciple, a track that would mark a before and after in his career, making him responsible for one of the underground hymns during that year. Later, his remix of "L.A. Girls" was premiered by Dimitri From Paris and used on the MTV series "The Hills". In 2008, "Afrikantastique" got licensed by Defected and Subliminal and it wasn't long until he became a major player in the house scene. 

A solid string of releases have followed since then, topping the charts "All About the 90s", "Something", "New Dawn" or the more recent "Wanna Be Free", taking him to tour the world as a DJ, playing venues from the US to Costa Rica, Russia or UAE.

In todays current music scene, it is rare to find an artist who not only has the ability to write unique and forward thinking songs, but who also has a voice that seems to fuse with the track with effortless ease......unless your name is Nastala.

Born in Europe, raised in Detroit, and now living in the worlds music capital that is London, Nastala first took her steps into the world of music at the tender age of just 9 when she stunned her mothers singing teacher with her raw natural ability.

It wasnt long before the young Nastala caught the song writing bug, and aged just 12 she wrote what was to be the first of many original songs, and at the age of 18 she made the decision to follow her instincts and develop her career as a full time singer / songwriter within the music industry.

Nastalas first steps into the professional world began with work on projects that produced a phenomenal demand from the industry. Introductions to some of the most important figures on the scene sparked interest from the worlds biggest producers and labels who immediately responded by offering an endless list of high profile ventures tailor made to suit her unique talent.

With various projects on the table, and growing media attention, Nastala took the decision to work alongside global DJ and producer Chris Lake who had already realised her early potential from an early demo, and the decision proved to be extremely successful. 

The partnership produced two massive dance hits in Only One which flew to number 1 in the Beatport and Cool Cuts charts respectively, whilst US Billboard chart success was matched with high chart positions all over the world including Europe, Australia and South America. This was followed by one of the biggest dance hits of 2009 in If You Knew and further collaborations with some of the biggest names in dance including Tiesto and Armin Van Buuren.

Nastalas early success at the height of the dance music community gave her a fantastic foundation to move forward. Her desire to succeed in the mainstream guided her towards working with some of the finest and most respected songwriters in the world including Biff Stannard (Kylie Minogue / The Spice Girls) and Jonas Quant (Kylie Minogue / Hurts). 

2010 is set to be an exciting year for Nastala as she completes her debut album working with some of the most respected songwriters and producers in the world. This year will also see the release of her debut single Crazy. The track was mixed down by one of the countries finest mix engineers in Ash Howes (Little Boots / Dido) and has already received fantastic support from the media and it will be the perfect platform to continue her phenomenal early success and shoot Nastala to the next stage in her blossoming career.
