An education in Chicago's house music history is deep in such institutions as The Warehouse, WBMX, and Grammaphone Records where many legends and renowned DJs learned their craft. DJ/producer Doc Link is no exception. Fascinated as a child by his older brother's vinyl collection and later the club sets of Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Gene Hunt, and Ron Hardy, Doc Link inevitably launched his own DJ career in 1987. 

His versatility and interest in genres ranging from soul and house to raw funk allowed Doc to develop a signature style of DJ'ing, mixing new and old, often including his own re-edits and versions of popular tracks. This dedication earned Doc Link a sterling reputation in his home city of Chicago and led to numerous appearances and gigs across the country.

As with most DJs and music obsessives, Doc found himself intrigued by the art of production and quickly set down that path. His production credits are as varied as his musical taste, including stints behind the mixing board for hip hop and soul acts and even creating jingles for Chicago urban radio stations. 

Soon he ventured into house remixing, and it was a winning collaboration with friend Roy Davis Jr. on "Dance Shake" that further propelled Doc Link into the limelight. Continued collaborations with Davis Jr. as well as a production alliance with Malik Alston for the classic "Back 2 Chicago" on King Street cemented Doc's place in house music. 

In a major move, Doc Link formed Liberate Recordings in 2006 with fellow DJ/producer EMan, Liberate has given Doc even more chances to excel with the freedom to release his music unhindered by another label's restraints. 

Still, it's behind the decks where Doc Link shines the brightest. His DJ sets are energetic, raw, and completely from the soul. With a love and knowledge of music as deep as his, Doc Link's sets act as intricate statements on the history of house as he's experienced it and a reflection on where it's all going. Says Doc, "I knew i wasn't just a listener when I started to hear the breaks, hooks, and melodies in the record when I wasn't playing music." 

Such attention to the music permeates Doc Link's sets as well as his own tracks, making for a deeper experience on dancefloors everywhere.

Nelly Jay's ear for music developed at an early age. This natural drive along with the ability to turn people on to unfamiliar sounds with his unique taste and style made him destined to do something notable with music in time to come. Staying true to his roots Nelly often brings elements of hip-hop into his sets while turning out cutting edge percussive tech-house beats. Nelly has been involved with Pure Gonzo Music from the start keeping the rest of the crew up to date with the latest and rarest of gems. He has played some legendary underground sets over the years at rooms as big as Club Love and parties that are staples of NYC nightlife such as SOUP. With his current podcast, PGM Sessions, Nelly has not only been sharing his own music but has also been putting out mixes from his favorite DJs from around the globe. Gangstercast 58 comes from French house DJ/producer ‘Giom’ 

‘Funky, eclectic, quirky, smooth, melodic, yet always bumpy with a solid groove…’ It’s not easy trying to define the sound that Giom has created for himself over the years but when you attend one of his energetic DJ sets, sample one of his many remixes or dance to one of his chart-topping #1 singles, the message becomes clear: Giom is here to make you move your feet.
And maybe that’s why the London-based Frenchman’s music has been supported by such an impressive list of the world’s best DJs, from the underground kings to the big room soldiers, from Fedde Le Grand to DJ Sneak, Green Velvet to Joey Negro, David Vendetta to Jimpster, Mark Knight to Grant Nelson, Sharam Jey to Kolombo, it seems everybody needs a bit of the Giom sound in their DJ sets. 

In the Summer of 2014, his song “Dr. Zapp" topped the Beatport Indie / NuDisco Top 100 and to this day still remains in the Top 50. And at the end of 2014, Giom was Beatport’s 25th most downloaded Nu Disco artist and was voted Traxsource’s 29th most important Deep House artist of the year.

Giom has worked, released, toured and collaborated with the likes of Riva Starr, Joey Negro, Fred Everything, Loulou Records, Toolroom and Defected Records. He has also headlined some of the world’s best clubs such as Fabric (London), Privilege (Ibiza), LIV (Buenos Aires), 360 (Dubai) and has performed in over 30 countries. 

Away from house music, Giom’s preferred spot is behind the drum kit, which has seen him touring and recording for the likes of Alice Russell, The Nextmen and Kasabian.

Asking Giom how this mix represented him as an artist, he commented; “This mix is old school, mixed with new school, vinyl and digital, sexy, funky, silly, French and quite laid back. Like me!” 

Giom describes the House Gangster sound as “an urban/ghetto/attitude take on the sound we all love” 

When we asked Giom, What does House music mean to you? He replied with, “House music is something I can't explain, it's a feeling, a hypnotic groove, it's a movement. I mean, even bad house music makes me want to dance, that's how much I love it.”  

Telling us how he compiled this mix, he says, “I chose tracks that reminded of how I felt when I used to listen to DJ Sneak many years ago, but also some that represent me today and try to showcase who I am and what I'm about.”

In December 2014 Claud was nominated as "Founding Member" of the DJ Hall Of Fame Group (Excellence / Dedication / Ethics) based in Chicago Illinois.

Claud also has his weekly Radio Live Broadcast on www.chfmworldwide.com / Chicago House FM one of the most frequented Radiostations for Chicago House every Sunday from 14-16pm EST with many special and exclusive Guests from all over the world and kindly promoted by House Salad Music.

In June 2014 Claud began to co-produce Underground House Music Tracks with his good friend since more than 30 years - Pc-Pat. 
The first releases from both came out on May 2015 under Underluxe Records, June 2015 under Reason2Funk and more to follow on DOIN' WORK Records and Greenhouse Recordings.

In August 2015 Claud has received the great opportunity to get released a Gangstercast on the very well known I'M A HOUSE GANGSTER MOVEMENT by DJ SNEAK.

In 2016 Claud founded Colours of House ™ as his Brand.

Igor Lisboa is originally from the city of Lisbon capital of Portugal, considered and appreciated for being the Mecca of electronic music of all kinds. At 16 he already borrowed the paths of the underground clubs of Lisbon. He learns a lot of DJ he has the opportunity to listen and observe for several years and developed a huge passion for electronic music. Igor has also forged in the middle of the Goa-Trance and it was in 2002 that he began learning to mix on turntables. During 7 years he traveled in Europe residing in several countries such as Spain, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, where he will discover other cultures and styles. In 2011 he puts his suitcases in Mulhouse and 3 years later he founded his Label US MUSIC. During this period he created the concept evenings BLACK CAT in Mulhouse where he managed to find for lovers of electronic music this city has real potential for underground partys

Dj born in 1988 in Ferrol (Galicia, Spain). Its highest devotion is funk, jackin 'Chicago house and a style mixer intense, dynamic, technical, based on tricks, track sets and effects, combining techniques like scratching and turntablists beatjugling in their blends due to its roots of hiphop.
His sessions have been played on American radio stations like Chicago House FM (Minneapolis) and Phillynitesradio (Philadelphia), in addition to developing other sets no less important for other groups of underground culture and record labels like "Little Routine Series" (France), "Reason2Funk Records "(United Kingdom)," in Da House Cast "(Chile)," Select Music "and the great" House Salad "(both of Mexico). In Spain also has podcast "12 inch", "Uyeney records", "Magnetic NetLabel" and the website "www.djsonline.es".
It also has shared the bill at some clubs of his region with artists the likes of Gayle San, Christian Smith, Joseph Capriati, etc ... It is currently developing in the world of production to create their own sound.

A Chicago transplant in the Wild West, Dee-Jay Shuga is a lover of all things house. Shuga's passion for music started in childhood, a child of two young music-loving parents with large and eclectic record collections. She was always obsessed with rhythm and dancing, and that love eventually moved her toward playing instruments. She studied classical music and composition in the late 80s and won medals for her classical flute performances. Although she gave up playing by high school, her love of music manifested itself in different forms, and in the early 90s, she discovered house music.

In 2001, Shuga married her husband, Hedspin, who was a long-time dj himself, and they used their wedding money to buy a brand new pair of Technics. By the end of the year, with a romanticized notion of playing together as a husband-and-wife team, she began to try her hand at mixing. Her approach to learning how to dj was the same as it was when she learned to play the flute: obsessive. Too embarrassed to play in front of her husband, she would mix in their basement while he was at work or out for the day, recording on a tape deck and listening to the mixes over and over again to figure out how to do better . She went from a couple minutes of clean mixing per tape to handing out her first mix CD within a year. Over time, after years of playing wide-ranging house genres and techno, she developed her own mixing style and found her signature sound: good, driving basslines, smooth vocal samples and a warm, techy feel.

In the years since she started playing, Shuga has been grateful to have shared decks and line-ups with some of the biggest names in house music. She has played everywhere from house & loft parties to outdoor events, clothing stores, bars & clubs in and around the Midwest and Chicago, including Smartbar and Zentra, and held a residency with other female djs at Lava Lounge. Recently, she has had guest mixes air on the radio in the UK, on record labels out of the US and Mexico, and on internet radio shows in the US and Canada, with a current monthly residency on Sugar Shack Radio. She has also started handling marketing and A & R for Chicago house label Orange Earth Music and will soon begin the long process of learning the art and skill of music production.

Professionally Adam career went into the direction of Private events of all sorts DJ/MC ranging in size from 30 to 2500 guests, Corporate/Weddings/Nightclubs/Private/TIFF/ Cruises/ Vanity fair/Concerts/PRIDE/Motionball and other Gala's and official DJ/VJ for AM640,Energy108 & 103.5 1994-1998. In 1997 an opportunity came up to play the music that best suited djadamt taste .. Sharkcity in midtown Toronto, a high end bar/resturant club. For nearly 3 year residency playing a wide range of House,Trance and some Techno and was featured by notable.com for Thursday nights we miss "back in the day". Currently playing at 2 downtown intimate Bar/lounge type venues Eastthirtysix and Boutique Bar. influences include Paul Oakenfold, Carl cox, Todd Terry, Adam Beyer,John Digweed, Solomun,Max Graham,Amand van Helden.

It was our first Burn and also our first time on the Robot Heart bus so being involved in the 10 year anniversary was a big honour which we’re really grateful for. We got to play as the bus drove out from base camp into Deep Playa and seeing all those people riding alongside on their bikes while we played was truly unique and memorable. Big thanks to all the Robot Heart team and everyone who was there for co-creating such a special experience. See you in 2018!!
