This piece symbolizes the evolution of the contemporary spirit towards the enlightenment experience and its activation in the "real world" through its progression of textures...

Beginning in from the universal sound source of the Om, this piece moves from the mechanical and sensual essence of modern life and society through the ebb and flow of becoming more and more aware of both the intense love and suffering of this world (represented by the movement of the strings) into an infinite space within, full of darkness but pulsing with beams of photons bringing one beyond space and time to the eternal sound of Om...

...awakening into an intricate hyperspace of Satori, we travel through the nexus of the Void upon the wings of a flute to find the realization that there is no realization and that It is beyond all things for: all is and all is not...

Floating back through inner/outer space and reawakening into this realm of Samsara and cyclical existence, the lessons of the Infinite are at first forgotten but then remembered again, creating a complete Self that is represented through the harmonic alignment of the strings and the flute, respectively symbolizing fear and love, darkness and light, the human experience and the buddha, the finite and the infinite...

Spirit Rap (Spicy Version

Ом (санскр. ॐ) — в индуистской и ведической традиции — сакральный звук, изначальная мантра. Часто интерпретируется как символ божественной троицы Брахмы, Вишну и Шивы, квинтэссенция Слова. В соответствии с ведическим наследием, считается, что звук ом был первым проявлением не явленного ещё Брахмана, давшим начало воспринимаемой Вселенной, произошедшей от вибрации, вызванной этим звуком.

Звук «Ом» является самым священным звуком в индуизме. Помимо олицетворения индуистской божественной троицы, он, сам по себе, является наивысшей мантрой, символизируя собой Брахман (высшую реальность) и Вселенную как таковую. Три его составляющих (А, У, М) традиционно символизируют Создание, Поддержание и Разрушение — категории космогонии Вед и индуизма. Считается также, что три звука символизируют три уровня существования — рай (сварга), землю (мартья) и подземное царство (патала). Они также символизируют три состояния сознания — грезу, сон и явь, — три времени суток и три способности человека: желание, знание и действие.

В Ведах звук «Ом» является звуком Солнца и света. Он символизирует собой движение вверх, приближение души к высшим сферам.

Священное значение мантры «Ом» в индуизме трудно переоценить. Практически все священные тексты индуистской и ведической традиции начинались и заканчивались этим звуком.

В гаудия-вайшнавизме составляющие звука Ом также указывают: А — на Кришну, У — на Его энергию, М — на все живые существа.

On May 26, 2018, beneath the near-full moon, we gathered at CoSM ~ Chapel of Sacred Mirrors, to share in journey through sound, art, celebration, and prayer. 

It was an honor to share these songs in this space of visionary convergence, prayer, and communion with the creative spirit. 

To send them out as beacons of beauty and inspiration, as offerings to the creative spirit and flame within, to the magic of the moment, and all that opens to us when we open ourselves as conduits for the highest self and the force of life.

This set is performed through live looping, building each song from the foundation up in the moment, layer by layer of vocal melody, harmony, and word. It was the opening invocation for the evening, before Erothyme and I played a collaborative set, and he closed the evening with a set of his own.
