Mission: Electronic - A new planet Discovery

Noosa Sound System chronicles the latest Discovery. 'Sol Transmission' is a live soundscape performance, inspired by the recent finding of a new planet similar to ours. HD 20794 is a super-Earth in the habitable zone of its star, located 20 light-years away. Researchers at the University of Oxford confirmed its existence in January 2025, after initially identifying a candidate exoplanet signal in 2022.The planet is within the habitable zone of its star, meaning it is at the right distance to potentially sustain liquid water on its surface. HD 20794 has a mass six times that of Earth. the gravity would be pretty heavy there, but there's nothing heavy about this soundtrack. Strap in as we venture outwards into sound.

Biography: 
Materielle is a Los Angeles-based techno artist whose deep, dub-influenced sound draws heavily from the rhythmic syncopations and atmospheric textures of '90s Detroit techno. Mixing elements of heavy, hypnotic basslines with complex patterns and immersive reverb, Materielle's music harnesses the raw energy and experimental edge of underground techno, with an eye for subtle detail and emotional depth. A self-taught producer with a decade-long career in music technology, Materielle has developed a distinctive sonic palette shaped by the teachings of pioneering artists such as Rødhåd, Claudio PRC, and Richie Hawtin. The name of Materielle is inspired by the fine art of weaving - an analogy to an artist's approach to music, where sound is created through layers and textures, much like fabrics are woven together to create something new.

Since 2019, Materielle has been honing her craft as a DJ, seamlessly transitioning into production with her single tracks Satin and Organza on Delusional Records and the release of her debut EP Fabrique on Northern Parallels. Featuring tracks Nylon and Neoprene with remixes from Mike Derer and Raytek, the EP gained attention for its unique blend of hypnotic grooves and emotionally charged atmospheres. Materielle’s recent release, a remix of Orly Gal’s The Man Without a Face, was selected by Beatport for their November Techno 2024 (peak/drive) shortlist, further cementing her growing presence in the techno scene. In early 2025, she contributed the track Kevlar to the Synthetik Minds VA compilation, a charity release in support of the Los Angeles fire relief efforts. Featuring leading artists from across the global techno scene, the collection highlights Materielle's commitment to both artistic collaboration and community impact.

Through her work, Materielle invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world of complex sound design where the boundaries between space and rhythm blur, creating a meditative yet immersive experience. Using an approach that is both technology and art-based, Materielle continues to explore the intersection of sound, texture, and human emotion in the ever-evolving techno landscape.
