Synth fraction electronic project from Czech Republic curated by Martin Kuška, a man dazed in soundscapes, gorgeous 80s and 90s independent sounds, early rare trance music and individualistic DIY approach to life and music production. Nothing is more boring than trying to make perfect music according to the principles and efforts to please the current standard.

Martin has been performing and producing ambient and synthy compositions under his real name for many years, releasing a few LPs for the US cassette labels Sacred Phrases and Origin Peoples, mostly influenced by writing, drawing and photography, as well as by the rhythms of village life.

Todmorden-based band Working Men's Club burst onto the scene at the beginning of 2019 with their debut single 'Bad Blood'. Coming via London-based mainstay Heavenly Records, the track championed their formative influences: 80s-leaning post-punk and melodic synth-pop.

But after dropping this first single, frontman and band leader Sydney Minsky-Sargeant was keen to weave his passion for electronic music into the band's future output — a decision that other members of the group weren't in favour off.

Two of the original members left, and since the band has gone through an evolution of members, now devoted to welding together the commanding punk sounds, present at the band's outset, with driving synth-heavy dance music. This newly-realised sound first hit public ears in mid 2019 with the release of 'Teeth', which laid the foundations for their self-titled debut LP that finally saw the light of day in October last year.

As a showcase of the electronic sounds that helped provide that new direction for the band's sound, lead singer Sydney Minsky-Sargeant delivers a special DJ set of warm breakbeats, squelchy machine funk and rhythmic house cuts.

Outsiders: Le Temps Perdu w/ Michele Mininni

As the name states Live at Robert Johnson is the associated label of the respected venue in Offenbach and incorporates what the club stands for. The imprint has been establishing a solid ground for the new Frankfurt sound since 2009. By featuring internationally acclaimed artists LARJ has been providing DJs and audiences with essential tunes in an extensive range of high-quality house music. Laid-back dance-floor awareness with a sense for particularity in sound is what might describe best most of the releases and artists.
