Dawntempo is my take on an alternate late night vibe...  when at the end of a night out, the sky is teasing purple, and people are ready to sit down to connect with friends they are faced with a choice… stay out, or head home.  If they can find a place where the vibes are chill, and there’s some comfy seating, then the party is elongated over smiles, laughter, and blissed out emotional beats.

And if the scene is just enticing enough… that critical mass makes it to sunrise to imprint their most magical highlight reel memories.

I believe (true) downtempo is a lost art and that this early morning slot is the perfect place for its triumphant return as people dance, cuddle or converse while FEELING beautiful bass music fueling forever friendships.

I've been known as the sunrise guy for years, but I've come to believe that it's really all about the dawn...

I've been compiling tracks of artists who have remixed some of the classics, for quite some time now, with the intent to make a unique mix. It has been pretty challenging, but these tracks bring me right back to the beginning of learning the mass amount of power music holds within us. Movement. Emotion. Compassion.. Music never ceases to allow us to let go and give in to the waves of sound. So, I felt the need to put this out there, once and for all. I dedicate this to the old at soul and to those who do not fear the feeling of surrender.

Fozzy Fest is a special experience for many different people, for many different reasons. 
For our crew it is a celebration of our friend Connor. 
His birthday always lands at the same time, and many people have incredible memories and even dreams of Connor at this close to home festival. 
We think this is why we feel so close to him here. We can express the energy that he has given, energy that he will always give...
Especially when we are together.

A long long time ago, I made a guest mix for the great (but now defunct) Vancouver music blog SKMB. Over the years it turned out to be many peoples favourite. It appears that recently the blog's Soundcloud account shut down and the mix disappeared. A few people messaged me to ask if I'd reupload it (thanks for the push!), so here it is!
