Lizdas Waves

New season – new winds. Waves, to be precise. With our new WAVES mix series, we've set out to present the waves that want to take the storm by storm. 

The first name is Simonas Činga a.k.a. Cport Cistema, who has been heard and seen many times by more attentive listeners. He is a producer and DJ who has been working in the shadows for years, keeping a low profile, but has finally started to attract more and more attention over the last year.

This year seems to have been a productive one for Simonas, with a number of successful independent releases and even a cassette released on the iconic Los Angeles label 100% Silk. We are delighted to have taken the artist's spare hour to record a great set. Tune in – we're sure you'll enjoy it too.

Lizdas Waves #1: Cport Cistema

Some things are blessed and remain unchanged, while others take time and the patience of the authors to truly understand their meaning and beauty. For the same reasons, we have long watched the duo @PeanutsonKeto , known in our craft circles simply as Edvinas and Gytis, the curators of Sodo Reikalai night. 

After the slow wave of electronica that happened back in the middle of the last decade, the sound has remained relevant and confirmed that it was not some kind of herd yum or temporary fad. A very similar sound was shaped by the aforementioned Peanuts on Keto – everything came together in the second #WAVES. We’re glad that the gates of that secret garden sometimes open in Lizdas, and this time also in the mix. Let's wander.

Lizdas Waves #2: Peanuts on Keto

The first thing you will hear is the voice emerging from nothingness "So Good, So Good...". Is it a subtle spoiler for us what to expect in the next hour? We could hardly disagree.
The third instalment of our WAVES series is carved by our very welcome guests from Scotland - @DixonAvenueBasementJams . As you would expect, the mix is full of intrigue and leads the listener through the kingdom's bumpy musical landscape. And there's everything from acid splashes, classic House vocal adaptations to the gloomy dark alleys where Bass music culture was once born. But fear not - throughout the musical journey, listeners will be under the watchful eye of the legendary UK label's cerberus.

Martynas G is a wonder boy from Kaunas, who has been seen many times behind the bar here, in Lizdas. Obviously, the time spent every weekend listening to a different sound of the guests from all around the world trained his ear and a brains to pick out true gold from the dirt. This week's musical episode of WAVES is presented by a graduate of the Lizdas Academy who co-founded „Kultas series“ with his colleagues. Domeika once mentioned that his curiosity to try out the decks came after a visit to our club, so this mix from now an active participant in the scene is a real pat on the back for us.

Orginally from the coast, now residing in Vilnius, with a decade of musical background and some substantial gigs under her belt already - Aloe Natasha has surely crept into the lithuanian night life over the past three and a half years. Exploring the depths of breakbeat perhaps reminding her of the sound of breaking sea waves, she also doesn't shy away from techno, joyfull hard house and anything that the current catches in between.

Tourman steps up as one of the uprising producers in the local scene with superb releases on such labels as Neptune Discs, Pluto’s Plan, or 39 Records. Our fellow recognizes himself as a true digger of the 90s and early 00s sound, where his references can be easily recognized in his studio works.

Lizdas Waves #7: Tourman

The eighth edition of Lizdas Waves brings Roe Deers to the stage, continuing his curation of the “Zverys” club night at the "Auditorija" space. This event offers a rare treat for the local scene: an extended back-to-back set with an upcoming headliner, Bawrut, accompanied by Onis.

According to Liudas, much of electronic music follows a clear and monotonic pattern, but when it comes to Roe Deers, the unexpected is the only constant. This unpredictability and fresh approach are reflected in both his productions and the "Good Skills" label he curates.

In his mix for the Lizdas Sound Institute, Roe Deers stays true to his signature sound, blending deep basslines, bright synths, and tribal elements—a selection that truly speaks for itself.

Lizdas Waves #8: Roe Deers

"Never let them know your next move" — it might as well be the motto of Maria Paskevic, the composer, DJ, and curator behind the Attention series. Her DJ sets are always full of surprises, jumping from one vibe to the next, and they never fail to bring the fun. In her latest mix, she digs deep into her roots, blending 90s acid, 2000s trance, and a splash of modern leftfield sounds, creating a sound that feels both fresh and familiar.

Cheh – a musician and event curator actively shaping the scene across Lithuania, Lebanon, and the UAE. Having spent much of his youth immersed in music exploration his path eventually gravitated towards artistic collaborations and festival productions.

Cheh’s performances are defined by versatility and hypnotic rhythms—an approach that has landed him behind the decks alongside names like Carl Craig, Oshana, Anthea, Sebastian Mullaert, Laurine Frost, Nastia, and many more. Now, it’s time for Auditorija. Before stepping into the booth, he delivers a mix for Lizdas—a perfect glimpse into what’s in store this Saturday.

Lizdas Waves #15: Cheh

In our parallel dream world, only music reigns. Luckily, at least on one of our channels – SoundCloud – that's exactly the case. A few times a month, we treat our community to a new mix.

The freshest one comes from our clubmate Yoolia (you’ll find it in the comments). In addition to regularly curating our beautiful monthly schedules, Julija is the co-founder of Palanga Street Radio, a resident DJ at Radio Vilnius, and a graphic designer, often drawing inspiration from music itself. The mix reflects her natural, uncompromising energy – the ability to blend things that might seem incompatible at first glance.

Lizdas Waves #18: DJ Pinigai

The female duo – Monika Seta and Inga – mentioned that they met not too long ago but immediately found common ground. Their acquaintance began with an evening in support of Ukraine, which we organized together with Art Cue.

"We instantly felt that we share a similar musical sensibility and enjoy exploring genres like New Beat, Synth Wave, Electro, and EBM," said Monika Seta. The mix that brought this duo together was recorded on a spring Sunday afternoon – and we’re happy to share this gift with you as well.
