The Penalty (Beirut)

This is the middle section of a larger work but only as a sketch. Unfortunately I don't count in the pauses when I play solo which distorts the phrasing.

Vom Schweigen der Worte

Sam is taking care of Salvation Mountain in Slab City. But he also has a tape recording project, collecting songs from the local artists.

Neil Mallick aka. The Sixth Son and I went and had a little recording session at night at the foot of the mountain, while in the distance the crickets chirped and the army tested their missiles.
Blank is a tune about a camp fire in Slab City, written and recorded two years ago, on a 12 string guitar up in the Bay Area. Now that I was back in the Slabs and Neil had his 12 string with him, the circle seems closed. And I am proud to be part of the Slab City allstars mixtape.
