- Legowelt, Kraftwerk, Burial, Anthony Rother, Plant43.

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

- Two EPs coming this year on Exploited Records and on Wave Function Records.

Which artists/labels are more relevant to you now?

- Plant43 is the electro artist i like the most these days.

What inspires you now to create music?

- I get inspired by messing around with my synthesizers and listening to music.

What set-up do you use when creating music?

- In the studio these days I mainly use: Vermona DRM1, Korg Prologue 16, Roland SH101, Roland JV2080, Roland Jupiter Xm and a bunch of Eurorack modules.
For my live set I use a whole lot of Eurorack modules and two 1010Music Blackbox samplers that are filled with loops of beats from my tracks. I use a modular Eurorack setup, because it is small enough to take with me in a backpack.

Our next podcast guest does not even need an introduction, meaning, if you know you know, that @Plant43 is a living legend within the musical world.

Inspired by Kraftwerk in the early 80′s Emile Facey was hooked on electro from an early age.

In 1998 he got involved with promoting electro events in London and soon after started writing music as Plant43. His first vinyl release came in 2006 on the much-missed Ai Records. Several 12’s and the well-received “Burning Decay” album in 2010 alongside other releases on Semantica Records, AC Records (acidlab.de), Bleep43 Recordings and Cultivated Electronics have highlighted his singular and ambiguous style of sinewy electro that draws deep from the influence of Drexciya. Emile is also graphic designer and co-founder of bleep43.com, which is dedicated to promoting and reviewing electronic music. Since 2003, the London based Bleep43 parties have seen him play live alongside such acts as ERP, DJ Stingray, Surgeon, $tinkworx, Microthol, Urban Tribe and many more.

Earth-shattering techno and intricate textures make up the delicate yet impactful sound of Alienata. The Spanish-born, Berlin-based artist is a self-described “sound obsessive” whose influences span anything from electro, ACID, dub, IDM, dark disco, techno, industrial atmospheres, and strains of sounds from both Detroit and Chicago. As founder of Discos Atónicos, she’s been able to platform and materialise her own influences, sharing music and making a mark.

With an approach to music that often leans towards alternative shades of techno, adding a blend of acid, electro, and old-school vibes, to traditional hard-hitting aspects, Alienata straddles high-calibre artistry, reminding us that techno can be complex, as well as wonderful loud and unignorable - and it's the nuance, and attention to detail, that often makes the most impact.

Ahead of Alienata’s return to the club this weekend (2nd-3rd December), she swoops in for the next edition of our mix series. Episode 027 is a breath of fresh air. She had been in singer activities until she met electro music.
Being inspired by techno music,
she started pursuing her own sounds and making techno music in 2012,
and getting to be devoted to dark-techno.

She,who had been just one of the huge funs with passion for music,made her debut in 2014.
While being as a singer/vocalist/collaborator,
eventually her own track was released as a producer in 2015.

Her extensive playlist reaches not only techno,
but also IBM,EBM.distortion,ambient,industrial,drone,classic music.

Now she grew up as a producer/vocalist/collaborator with the various producers.
Once you notice her existence,you would be spiraled into her mysterious imagination.
Her wave is just getting started.

Tracklistings Mixtape #234 (2016.07.31) : Philosophique Girl

Here is my dj set recorded at Freerotation 2017. I played on the first night of the festival in room 2. I can’t remember the last time i was that nervous... Freerotation means a lot to me !!

The first 15minutes were a bit difficult, but the vibe was super nice and after a few tracks, the magic happened. The vibe at freero is so cool, I had a lot of fun :) The crowd noise was recorded and i edited the file in order to avoid background noises. I edited the second transition of the mix too as i had a problem with my recorder. Everything else is recorded straight off the desk with no edits.

Massive thanks to Steevio and Suzybee for inviting me, and thanks to alex downey for recording my set. Big up Onyx aka Oxyd who took the picture.

We are very honored to start the year 2018 with this fabulous Mixtape of Dez Williams !

Bio : Holy Island, an island off of the coast of North Wales is where Dez Williams begun spinning wax at an early age and now maintains his 
humble analogue / digital studio. Isolated from the marketing, fashion 
and pretentious attitudes that plague the music industry, Dez is free 
to express himself through his machines. Safe from this environment he 
is unconstrained and has no urge to conform with any ideal or aesthetic 
and thus his electronic music is pure self expression. A window into 
his soul. His day job at an electronic components factory means that he 
is no stranger to repetition, rhythm and electronics. His sound is 
perhaps a product of his daily grind with boredom, escapism, events in 
his life and a long term passion for technology, horror and science 
fiction. Inspired by many of the classic Chicago / Detroit / electro / 
techno producers, like the finest, his sound is unique, uncompromising 
and unpredictable. His vision of techno is deep and futuristic with a 
heavy dose of funk. Dez's passion for sound and the darker side of the 
human spirit compels him to create tracks on an almost daily basis and 
he sits on an incredibly vast archive of cassettes, mini-discs and CD's 
of his work. Yet his reclusive nature dictates that his release 
schedule remains sparse. His tracks can range from driving techno, to 
melancholy and dark synthesizer orchestrations, ghostly deep listening, 
straight up electro cuts and beyond. Sometimes simple, sometimes 
complex, within his sounds are vast amounts of detail for the listener 
to decipher. Emotions transmitted through mathematics and code. 
Williams' tracks have found their way into the sets of DJ's like Dave 
Clarke, Andrea Parker, Adam X, John Peel, Ellen Allien, Mike Dred and 
Rob Hall.
He has constantly retained an underground / cult fanbase. His debut LP 
'Elektronik Religion' for the SCSI label was hailed as "One of the 
very few truly great electro albums of the new century". Dez remains 
true to the underground and simply creates for the love and need to do 
so. The mark of a true artist. He continues to DJ and play live sets
worldwide and has had releases on a variety of record labels including 
Bedouin, Earwiggle, Trust, Minimal Soul, Warmdata, Acruacree, Ai, Cheap,
SCSI-AV, Blase, Voodoo, and Ben Sims' Native imprint.

I was extremely honored to be featured on the legendary Essential Mix show this summer...  When I was in college, my teacher used to play us Essential Mixes in class, and on the 20th anniversary of the show,  Pete Tong was hosting James Zabiela and Sasha at the Warehouse Project in Manchester. I was the first one in the queue and the last one to leave the club! I will never forget that night. This year I had the honor of meeting Pete Tong at IMS Ibiza, and I think you can imagine how overwhelming it was to be invited to record a set for the show.  Here is my Essential Mix.
