Paco Osuna's record label Mindshake welcomes a collaborative EP from DJ Fronter and Julian Collazos who have previously worked together to showcase their upbeat brand of stripped back tech house on Hottrax and Circus Recordings.
Based in Colombia, DJ Fronter has a fascination with tribal percussion and Latin grooves. Mixing those influences with electronic beats, he creates groove heavy tracks that are perfect for the dance floor.
One of the artists leading the South American scenes next generation, DJ Fronter is a popular headliner at clubs and festivals across the region. He is also known internationally for his top-selling tracks on labels that range from Toolroom to Hot Creations.
Julian Collazos is also a Colombian artist who is a popular DJ in his home country and other parts of South America. He is also a talented solo producer known for his releases on respected labels such as Stereo Productions, Roush and Material.
Each of the artists have provided a solo track for the EP along with their collaborative cut, which opens the release in a vibrant style that's full of charisma and Latino flair.
The guys collaborative track "Notorious" opens the release with its hip-hop inspired vocal sample and stabbing piano riff. Track two "You" by DJ Fronter is a stripped back and techy cut with a distinctive and soulful vocal, and track three is a dub version for those who like dark and hypnotic grooves. Julian Collazos' solo track "Yourself" closes out the release with its rubbery acid-line, explosive vocal samples and jackin' percussion rhythms.

Riva Starr – Raw Edits Vol 1

Renowned for his ability to bring creativity and flair to his wild remixes, edits and re-edits, Riva Starr is a hugely welcome new addition into the Saved fold. Bringing a special collection of new edits, the producer displays the kind of dexterity that has made him so impossible to pigeonhole over the last decade.

First up, Riva delivers a driving and energetic mashup of DJ ROLAND CLARK’s “The First Time” and Paul C & Paolo Martini’s “Take Some Time.” Frenetic percussion in the top end and futuristic FXs create a party-focused pace as the dubby atmospheres and pumping beats add the power and momentum. The ghetto-funk vocal adds another dimension to make this Riva’s own personal homage to the history of house music. The raw edit of “Chasing Autumns” by Taras Van De Voorde continues that exploration further, tapping into a unique mix of classic sounding house with rich piano chords and emotive strings; and a modern, raw sounding warehouse energy that burns and stomps away underneath.

Taking things into a much deeper hue, Riva with his colourful edit of Luca Morris’ “Play By Play.” Built around subtly shifting melodies, a deep, rolling bassline and tumbling drums, the track shuffles forward with bags of personality and charisma. Intoxicating and heady, this one will keep heads down whilst infiltrating the feet. Riva’s edit of Rino Cerrone & Flavio Diaz’s “Extraordinary Wiring” is a dizzying, head-spinning workout that swirls and shakes with an unsteadying disposition. Funky drums interplay with highly distorted synths and mechanical sounding basslines to create a sound that is at once playful, addictive and unstoppable.

Steve Lawler makes his debut on Hector Couto’s thriving Roush imprint to kick off 2017, with both Couto and Spanish talent Cuartero providing two stellar remixes.
2016 has seen Hector Couto’s Roush take a firm hold within the world of house, with releases from industry heavyweights including the likes of DJ W!ld, Steve Rachmad, Santé, Neverdogs, DJ T. and more this year alone. Next up is VIVa boss Steve Lawler, who finally releases ‘People Having Sex’ as his first offering on the label.
“I’m very happy to now release this track. I made it a couple of years ago around the time I made ‘House Record’ that was eventually released on Hot Creations. I was experimenting with my old Roland machines, trying to re-create a sound that I was aware of in the late 80’s. This track ‘People Having Sex’ was never sent out to anyone at the time and just kept it for my DJ sets. Now 2 years on, and under the desire of many people asking what this track is throughout all of this summer, I have decided to release it and where better than Hector Couto’s House label Roush” - Steve Lawler
Lawler’s original opens up the EP in fine style, revealing ever-evolving 303 lines, mischievous vocals, 808 claps and precise percussion patterns that combine to combine unearth a record unquestionably intended for the dancefloor. Next up, Roush boss Hector Couto’s interpretation firmly places its emphasis on percussion, with a driving low-slung groove and rugged drum licks guiding the production into an energy-fuelled workout across five and a half minutes.
Lastly, Cuartero’s remix shapes up the package by utilising the original’s playful vocal over a bubbling lead line whilst a series of glitches and pops ebb and flow amongst shuffling hats in the background, rounding out yet another impressive package from the team at Roush. Steve Lawler ‘People Having Sex’ is out on Roush on January 30th 2017.

Since launching in early 2019, Dennis Cruz and Eddy M's MÜSE imprint has quickly seen the pairing curate one of the scenes most impressive rising labels - welcoming the likes of Tube & Berger, Piem and Alan Nieves alongside rising talents including Gruuve and Bizen Lopez, whilst also serving as a key outlet to release their own productions and material. Hot on the heels of Cruz's latest stand-out EP, 'KMA', early-August welcomes the debut split EP offering on the label as both co-founders return alongside one another for the very first time to serve up the twotrack 'Show Me / Five'. 

Eddy M's 'Show Me' opens proceedings with authority as the Barcelona-based DJ and producer combines crisp metallic drum lick atop of driving low-end tones and escalating lead lines to deliver a high-energy opening cut, whilst Cruz's bubbling 'Five' employs trademark hooky vocal samples alongside menacing basslines and icy hats to showcase a rolling cut typical of the ever-impressing Spaniard.

Dennis Cruz - Five

From early breakout hit "Phat Dope Shit" in 2002 to "Heavy Heart", a new collaboration with Skrillex and Fireboy DML, Dice has always been in the headlines. After his debut album "7 Dunham Place" on his own now long-running and well-regarded Desolat in 2008, came the major label follow-up "Underground Sound Suicide" on Ultra Music with guests like Giggs, Just Blaze, and Neneh Cherry, then the agenda-setting and club-focussed house and techno showcase that was "Love Letters" in 2018. 

Add in tens of EPs on Ovum, Minus, Cocoon, to name a few, and his remixes from everyone from Kevin Saunderson to Moby, Black Coffee to Disclosure, Warren G to Basement Jaxx, Loco Dice has always been at the beating heart of the electronic scene. 

His DJ sets, too, always brim with personality, whether in a small underground basement or on an iconic main stage at some of the world's top festivals like EDC Ultra, Tomorrowland and Coachella to name a few, playing to thousands. He has had era-defining residencies at iconic Ibiza super clubs like Circoloco at DC-10 and on the Amnesia Terrace as well at Space Miami. 

His lockdown move has been to unveil En Coleur, a label reserved exclusively for his own music produced at that time. SB Recordings followed. A new label open to all styles of dance music.

Since day one Loco Dice constantly pushes the boundaries of techno and house music production, from his appearance in 2004 PlayStation2 game "Decks & FX" to cooking up his own ideal fusions of hip hop and electronic music with his FKD side project or writing critically acclaimed runway soundtracks for Italian fashion designer Marcelo Burlon during Men’s Fashion Week in Milan for both FW20 and SS20.

Dice's distinctive fashion sense and strong visual aesthetic manifest in his collaborations with Amsterdam fashion label Daily Paper, pro sports hat purveyors New Era and in his own clothing brand Seran Bendecidos. 

All of this and his longevity prove that Loco Dice is undoubtedly an insatiable creative force most interested in the uncharted territory between genres and styles, the elements that link everything together.
