Ion Driver - Blackout (Wildsilences Experiment)

Inspiration & Sound
This new track is a tribute to one of my most important musical influences: Jean Michel Jarre. I drew inspiration from his legendary piece “Oxygène Pt. 4” — especially in the sounds and the pads. The melodies, structure, and sounds were created independently to give the track my own unique character. I hope you can hear the inspiration as well as the fresh perspective I brought to it. Enjoy listening!


A quick note about the song titles:
You might have noticed that my recent releases have very simple letter titles — “A”, “B”, “C” and so on. The reason is that I don’t want to set any fixed ideas about how you should experience the music. This way, there’s more room for your own personal interpretation, which feels more true to my music. Thanks for being here and joining me on this journey!

A lingering sense of emptiness follows, like walking through a place you once loved and finding it unrecognizable. There is a quiet ache—an awareness of absence, of something essential now lost to time. It is the kind of melancholy that settles in gently, making you reflect on the fragility of beauty and the deep silence that remains after even the smallest signs of life have faded. After the ferns, all that’s left is memory and the hush of what used to be.

Hybrid orchestral soundscape, a simple E minor chord progression played on both electronic and acoustic instruments:  5 synthesisers alternating with 4 bowed basses, 2 cellos and a violin.
