On the 2nd anniversary of the Valley Radio mix series we are able to celebrate a great coming together of people, motivated by passion and love. 
In this project Valley shows once again that they move rather like an organism than a static platform. Constructing an ever-evolving state influenced by the creative energy of its digital and social surroundings, Valley’s next shape will always be surprising yet familiarly touching.

From Nursery to Misery crawl back to Dark Entries with Tree Spirits, the follow up to 2017’s Pixies In The Woods. The project was founded in 1987, when producer and keyboardist Lee Stevens invited identical twins Gina and Tina Fear over to record in his home studio in Basildon, Essex. Four years of prodigious studio experimentation followed, resulting in two full length cassettes (1989’s The Oak Tree and 1990’s Equilibrium), and a split EP with Nostalgie Eternelle in 1990. Stalwarts of the Mail Art scene, they also appeared on over 22 cassette compilations, home-dubbed in true DIY fashion, before splitting in 1991. 
The eleven tracks on Tree Spirits display From Nursery to Misery’s signatures: chunky drum machine patterns, playfully eerie synth melodies, and Tina and Gina’s stark, nursery rhyme-esque vocals. The lyrical content ranges from dreary to grim; they explore existential despair, sexual violence, and death through an acerbic, feminist lens. Inspired by the Bladerunner soundtrack and 4AD, Lee’s production is alternatingly warm and icy, like a glacier wrapped in analog tape hiss. Stylistically, the tracks range from charmingly miserable synth pop on “Cry Me”, to the clanging rhythmic industrial of “The Daily Raper”, and even a haunting flute driven instrumental with “A Summer Morning Trip Through The Misty Woods”. From Nursery to Misery are a pure expression of the British DIY aesthetic, which is made all the more captivating by the band’s own confession that they were just trying to make pop music!
All songs on Tree Spirits were remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The cover art by Eloise Leigh features a photograph of the twins posing dramatically in the woods. Included is a 12-page booklet with lyrics, liner notes, and an archival interview with the band, as well as a bonus 1.25” square pin featuring the band’s logo.

Die Schiefe Bahn is a three piece project from Berlin and Hamburg. Their demo was recorded after only three rehearsals due to long distance issues. The members also play in Aus, Adrie, Die Letzten Ecken, Liiek, Benzin, Mercedes Guevara, Schimmel über Berlin and so on. Most of the bands are part of the ADK (Allee der Kosmonauten) rehearsal room collective, which is involved in different labels (Mangel, Billo Tonträger, Flennen) and hosts an own analogue studio run by T-Rex and C.Ramisch and consists of various artists who do mostly post-punk and experimental music. They also do shows in Berlin. Die Schiefe Bahn is two visual artists and a film student, all of them do a lot of music. Their demo is a first raw collection of post-Punk songs, influenced by late 70s, early 80s records and current sounds.

The Intolerance born in September 1983 in Cuneo, a small town in the montains near Torino, by an idea of Luca Musso, Marco Marongiu and Paolo Chiotasso, all musicians orbiting around the various high school of music expecially SMET (electronic music studio in Torino) founded by Enore Zaffiri. At the vocals was Raffaella Risso. Their cultural landmarks and music influences were Suicide, DAF, Throbbing Gristle, German electronic music scene of the years '60s/'70s, composers as Luciano Berio/Stockhausen and the new international Post-Punk/New Wave scene of the period.  The instrumentation used in the two first years of activity of the band (which is used in this album ) was Roland JX-3P, Roland Juno-106, Roland Sh-101 and Drumatrix TR-606. Between the end of 1983 and 1984 the band played in various venues and squat (as the historic Victor Charlie, in Pisa). In this period the band was menaged by Ivan Rosso and Leonardo Borghese, both 'semi-official' members of the band. The last one, Leonardo Borghese, was the "deus ex machina", founder of the independent label "Suoni dal Profondo Nord" (Notes from the Deep North), who produced the first Intolerance demo and other bands of the same town/area. Intolerance also appeared in split tape compilation enclosed on 'Amen' fanzine and "VM" compilation LP. At the end of the '80s the band split up.
After over 25 years, the music of this great italian Minimal-Synth band is finally available on vinyl!
