Marc Yeats is an internationally renowned composer and visual artist whose compositions have been performed by the most noted of orchestras and ensembles across the globe. These include UK companies such as The London Sinfonietta and The Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic and the Halle Orchestra and Chorus. Further afield, Marc’s work has also been performed by the Tokyo City Philharmonic, the Atlanta based, Chamber Cartel, and many others. His compositions have gained great acclaim through many radio broadcasts for the BBC and also been broadcast in many other countries including the US, Germany and New Zealand.

Marc’s relationship with the BBC is both strong and enduring, starting with a BBC Scotland performance by the Edinburgh String Quartet more than 20 years ago. His first orchestral work – I See Blue – conducted by Martyn Brabbins, received much acclaim when first performed around the same time. This led to specific BBC commissions, including a piano concerto to open Piano 2000 in Manchester, with Kathryn Stott as soloist, and a solo harpsichord piece ‘Rhema’, performed by Mahan Esfahani and broadcast in 2010 by BBC Radio 3 from the Clothworkers’ Centenary Concert Hall in Leeds.

Selection as one of just 10 to attend the legendary Hoy Summer School in 1994 brought Marc into contact with the late Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. At the completion of the course, Max was keen to support and promote Marc’s work, and conducted his first commission with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra at the St. Magnus Festival in 1997. He and Marc continued to share ideas, and Max took a great interest in Marc’s visual art and compositional work with mobile technologies and a range of asynchronous structural approaches to composition.

Marc is excited to have recently been appointed composer-in-residence to Yeovil District and Dorchester County Hospitals, a position he has also held with other UK and US organisations. Work such as My Blood Is As Red As Yours’ (an orchestral and choral piece commissioned by the Halle to celebrate World Aids Day in 2008 and performed at the Bridgewater Hall) and recent work, such as ‘shapeshifter’ and ‘the observation quartets’ continues to enhance his reputation as a leading contemporary composer.

Lorenzo Troiani is an Italian composer (Rome, 1989) living in Vienna.

His work, be it acoustic, electronics, theatre or installation, deals with the instability hidden within every object and it considers such oscillating and trembling nature as an existential “ground zero” of the human experience.

He studied composition with Salvatore Sciarrino, Rosario Mirigliano, Clemens Gadenstätter, Gerd Kühr, Chaya Czernowin in institutions such as Conservatory of Rome (Diploma), Conservatory of Latina, Kunstuniversität Graz (MA), Harvard University (PhD).

His music has been performed by different ensembles such as Neue Vocalsolisten, Quatour Diotima, Klangforum Wien, Quartetto Prometeo, Ensemble Phace, OENM Salzburg, MDI ensemble, Schallfeld ensemble, Curious Chamber Players, Quatuor Tana, Vertixe Sonora ensemble, Ensemble L’Arsenale, Ensemble Multilaterale and in different parts of the world: Italy, Germany, Austria, France, England, Scotland, Belgium, Canada, USA, Brazil, Argentina and in several Festivals and venues, such as: Wien Modern, Milano Musica, Musikprotokoll, Konzerthaus Wien, Auditorium Parco della Musica, Impuls Festival, Darmstadt Ferienkurse, Festival Ensembles etc.

He has been Composer in residence in several Festivals and Institutions, between them: Villa Sträuli (Switzerland), Künstlerhaus Otte (Germany), Schloss Wiepersdorf (Germany), IZZM - Internationales Zentrum Zeitgenössischer Musik (Austria). Lorenzo has also been awarded various international prizes, including the Impuls Composition Competition (2015), the Valentino Bucchi Prize (2014), the Förderungspreis der Stadt Graz (2017) etc.

Some of his compositions are published by Universal Edition Wien, Sconfinarte, Col Legno label, Austrian Grammophone and EMA Vinci.

The poetry of Paul Celan and Francis Ponge, the works of Paul Klee and Jannis Kounellis, the philosophy of J-L. Nancy and Jacques Derrida have a crucial role in his music.

He graduated in Philosophy at the University Roma Tre of Rome with Paolo D’Angelo and Elio Matassi, with a dissertation on ontological thinking of Paul Klee.

Damián Gorandi (Argentinean, born in 1991). He has finished his master in composition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Stefano Gervasoni. He attended the CURSUS IRCAM  in Composition and in Computer Music in Paris. 


Also, he has finished his higher studies of composition at the Haute école des arts du Rhin Strasbourg. He studied electroacoustic music at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt Weimar, Germany. In Argentina he obtained the superior title of professor in composition at the Alberto Ginastera Conservatory. 


He has worked with instrumental ensembles such as Ensemble Intercontemporain, Klangforum Wien, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, Accroche Note, Ensemble Next, Ensemble L'Imaginaire, Ensemble Platyplus, Ensemble Names, the Untref string quartet, the Barcelona Modern Ensemble, Ensemble Fractals, Ensemble Synaesthesis, Ensemble Intercolor,  Ensemble arthaus, among others.


His music is frequently programmed in Europe, North and South America and Asia in festivals as Manifeste (Paris), Festival Présence (Paris), Festival Musica (Strasbourg), Festival Impuls (Vienne/Graz),National Philharmonic of Moscow, Next generation at the ZKM (Germany), the Festival Nycemf in New York, the Festival Crossroads Mozarteum (Vienne), Samplers Series (L’auditori, Barcelona), in the CCK (Buenos Aires), Seoul International Computer Music Festiva (Korea), Le festival Arsmondo organized by L'Opéra national du Rhin, Among, others.


He has followed the teachings of Stefano Gervasoni, Luis Naon, Yan Maresz, Daniel D'Adamo, Tom Mays, Jorge Sad, Elsa Justel, Robin Minard, Joao Pedro Oliveira, Thierry de Mey.


He has won many international prizes, some of them like the international impuls composition competition, Ina-GRM - Concours Banc d'Essai, 1st Prix Internationale Sommerakademie Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien 2018, 1 ̊ Prize Taukay Edizioni Musicali international composition competition, the 1 ̊  Prize Russolo,  Prix foundation Salabert, International prix Ibermusicas. 1 ̊ prize of the Fundation Destellos, 1 ̊ prize KLANG! International Composition, 1 ̊ prize in the international competitions of the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar, 2 ̊ prize in the international competition Via nova contemporary music Thüringen, among others. From Argentina he won the 1 ̊ Sadaic prize,    1 ̊ Trinac prize (2016 and 2017), The prix "Juan carlos Paz", 1 ̊ Triarg Prize, among others. 


He has been invited as judge in several international competitions such as the competition of Fundation Destellos or the Iannis Xenakis International Electronic Music Competition (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). As professor has been invited by the Haute école des arts de Berne to give courses and lessons in composition. 


He received the support of Gisela Timmermann grant from the Mozarteum Argentino, from Ibermusicas, from the Conservatoire de Strasbourg after winning the Notoriety scholarship from fondation de France, and also from Cité internationale universitaire de Paris.
