Remotion are an electronic music duo based in Porto, Portugal. They’ve started making music under this alias in 2012 focusing on the deep and melodic techno vibes, with an energetic twist and aiming straight to the dance floor.

The duo has played in some of the best clubs in Portugal such as Pacha Ofir, Gare Porto, Industria Club and shared the stage with internationally acclaimed artists like Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati, Pan-Pot, Jeff Mills, Monika Kruse, DVS1, Paul Ritch, Pig & Dan, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Len Faki, Christian Smith, Ida Engberg, Alan Fitzpatrick - to name a few.

In 2010 Remotion co-founded a record label - Sync Forward - alongside the Portuguese artists and their personal friends, Monotronik. Later on, the label solidified its position in the electronic scene, with the creation of the event signature "BLUR", leading to a monthly residence in a variety of venues featuring the closest artists to the label.

2016 started off by signing 4 tracks on the well-known label Elevate, having one of them - Lucy - featured on Pig & Dan’s Essential Mix, on BBC Radio One.

Biography

I have been creating electronic music for 30 years, primarily using computers—going all the way back to the first Steinberg Cubase, an Amiga computer, propellerheads Rebirth, sampler keyboards like the Roland S-50, Groovebox 505 and various MIDI controllers like UC-33e.

Today, I work with both Mac and PC, utilizing a wide range of VSTs, including U-he synths, the Arturia Collection, and Native Instruments. My DAW of choice is Ableton Live, which I have used since version 2, along with Ableton Push 3, various MIDI controllers and keyboards, the SOMA LYRA-8, Pro-1, MiniFreak, DrumBrute and Deepmind 12, as well as effect pedals.

Music is my great passion—it brings me peace and a sense of purpose. The ability to express myself through music is incredibly liberating.

I have contributed music to feature films such as Pusher 2 and Pusher 3, composed music for Danish national radio documentaries Sådan er fædre and Sådan er mødre, and worked on a Japanese short film that was selected for the Sundance Film Festival.

The name Lovelight—a slightly kitschy expression—dates back to the early days of the internet when I used a dial-up modem that took minutes to send and receive short messages. At that time, I was part of a spirituality-focused online group, and the members thought Lovelight was the perfect name for me. I have kept it as my artist name ever since.

Xtraplex Records is a chokepoint of creative morphic resonances from contemporary audio manipulators and sound designers.
We try not to think in genres or scenes, hard or slow, we just try to deliver deep emotional electronix designed in an effort to excite (y)our geniculate ganglion.

Myoptik has been cutting an idiosyncratic figure in the world of music, radio, writing, comedy and events promotion since the last century. Preferring to embrace the random and expressive over the perfect and the staid Myoptik is not easy to pin-down or tidy up. A lifetime of jams, collaborations and live performances inform his refreshing and sometimes obtuse take on electronic sound. His releases for labels such as Frequency Domain, Abseits, Bass Agenda, TheCentrifuge, Law and Auder, Crobot Muzik, Section27, WhiteLabelMusic, Touched Music and his own Ping-Discs imprint reflect some of the more harnessed offerings that have spewed out of his cacophonous studio and refracted mind. https://myoptik.bandcamp.com/follow_me
