Madrid native Dennis Cruz makes his Solid Grooves Records debut with three rumbling cuts including a remix from fellow countryman Wade.

Since his debut in 2010, Cruz has become a staple in Beatport’s charts, not to mention the sets of artists such as Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Nicole Moudaber, Yousef and Roger Sanchez. Throughout this time the likely producer has dropped releases on Saved, Deeperfect, Stereo Productions and Kinetika, not to mention his very own imprint Lemon-Aid Music. He now arrives on PAWSA & Michael Bibi’s Solid Grooves Records, joining the likes of Wade, Kuo Climax and Rockwell & Landers for an exciting second year for the label.

Initiating with the sound of a roaring crowd, ‘See Line’ was produced with the dancefloor in mind using thudding kicks, arcane vocal samples and an energetic rhythm. ‘Heads or Cruz’ is a more low-slung number with a focus on a killer groove, whilst ‘Bienvenido’ engages in a medley of percussive elements geared for peaktime antics. Tying the package together, Wade remixes ‘See Line’ to give it his signature twist whilst ensuring the heady vocals reiterate throughout.

2016 has been quite the year for Mancunian house and techno duos releasing on VIVa, epitomised by the rapid growth in popularity of Solardo and Scurrilous. The latter first featured on VIVA last December with ‘Back To Beat’ EP, and were included in Mark Jenkyns and Leftwing & Kody Warriors Season 5 Mix, with ‘Got To Have Me’. We are, therefore, delighted to welcome Adam Bell and Andre Cornwall, better known as Scurrilous, back to VIVa with this brilliantly produced tech-house EP, ‘Suck My Soul’.


Bell and Cornwall have both enjoyed individual success, previously being nominated for a MOBO and People’s Choice Music Award, but their collaboration can be seen as a huge positive for the scene. Their talent hasn’t gone unnoticed, as the pair have already gathered support from Steve Lawler, Marco Carola, Richy Ahmed, Jey Kurmis, SEFF and Claude VonStroke to name a few.

UK house music production is arguably at its pinnacle, with DJs from around the country continually releasing tracks that are hitting the Beatport Top 10 Charts. Despite their tender age, only forming 18 months ago, there is no reason why Scurrilous can’t reach these heights having already released on Foreign Language, Voltaire Music and Strictly Deep.
