Ever since the German producer known as Claptone got his start just a year ago, he has been awarded artist of the year on the German Trendcharts DCC 2012, and has held his spot on Beatport’s Top 10 Tracks in the deep house category. Ben Weber is a self-proclaimed sound-anarchist. Catchy melodies, jazzy funk and dreamy melancholia embedded in well-structured arrangements and airy beats define his sound.  His influences stem from his youth where he was mesmerised by punk, metal, funk and wave. Here, on the extremely versatile LMF014 ‘The Streets’ four original productions in collaboration with Phable and Alex Eilers are being showcased alongside two remixes by Low Steppa and WD2N.	

While ‘Castle in the Air’ convinces thanks to its laid-back charm, rolling percussion and sun-drenched guitar licks, ‘Unconditioned Love’ presents itself as a deep midnight chugger with a Balearic vibe, epic chords and emotional strings, all complimented by Phable’s stunning voice. ‘Nineties’ and ‘The Streets’ together with Alex Eilers are more forward, with the former paying homage to the classic Jersey house sound and the latter channelling 80s synth-pop within a deep house context. As for the remixes: Low Steppa rebuilds ‘Castle in the Air’ on a robotic UK garage groove for his peak-time bomb, whereas WD2N enhances the melodious aspects of ‘Unconditioned Love’ on his interpretation.

Hot off the back of debut chart smash ‘So Freakin’ Tight’ that jumped high into the official chart earlier this year, UK duo Tough Love are back to present their brand new single alongside R&B legend Ginuwine with the remake of the 1996 classic and chart smash ‘Pony’ out on 7 August.
 
‘Pony (Jump On It)’ is a one of a kind release, seeing the R&B legend re-record his vocals on this massive classic, it feels as though this could be even bigger than before. For the next Lost record we called up on NYC's Manik for a three track EP. The lead track 'I Know' kicks things off with a nice vocal dancefloor weapon. A real steady tonal constant low end sitting on top of an almost hypnotic hook. The raw vocal samples showcase an old school rhythm throughout. Jacques Renault on a remix tip steps it up little with a few glitchy surprises. Here the jackin percussion vibes work well alongside the raw drums.

To wrap things up 'Waiting' is a cleverly mastered garage style anthem with another melodic vocal arrangement which kindly provides an uplifting yet sleazy heads down groove.

This release offers some dazzling talent with sublime groove and techy impulses coming together perfectly. Hearing these early or late into the evening, this should go down a treat for some dancefloor heat!
