Lost Records have drafted in Hector Couto to helm the label’s sophomore release. Straight off the bat Hector kicks off the EP with the title track “I Believe”, a hypnotic and infectious number armed to the teeth with precise hi-hats and brooding basslines. “I Believe” cements Hector Couto’s production to an ever evolving sound while setting the stage perfectly for the follow up track “Knight Riders”.
Built on similar foundations to “I Believe”, “Knight Riders” introduces a rich soundscape, playingdeep and shadowy attributes against a field of succinct vocals and lead synth lines. Closing the EP we have remix heavyweights Waifs & Strays, 2013 being a blistering year for the production duo so far, seeing them feature on a plethora of releases. The remix ticks the boxes on what is becoming a key set of signature attributes that make up the duo’s sound, welding key features of the original and pinning them into a heavier groove whilst playing off atmospheric build ups and break downs.

Leftwing and Kody have called up German Brigante to bring his infectious dancefloor grooves to their Lost Records latest release. Their Spanish hombre has released music on some impressive labels over the last few years, and has been on the Lost A&R radar for while now.

For the A side ‘Kimbo’ he has stepped up with a characteristic tech house vibe. This bassline heavy groove fits in nicely with some hidden vocal samples and an unnerving synth effect, on top of a big drop. The spaced out drum patterns throughout will have the dancefloor fixated on their feet.

On a remix tip is one of Brigante’s friends and countrymen, Cuartero. He reworks the original with his trademarked techno tremors, taking the track further underground with deeper hooks where the method on the raw synths requires no special effects. Unalloyed rare energy throughout which will work up a mysterious groove on any dancefloor.

S. Jay has made a huge impact on the scene in such a short space of time. With a remix for Groove Armada under his belt, not to mention releases on Low Steppa’s imprint Simma Black & Love Not Money just to name a few. He is growing from strength to strength with every release & this next installment on Get Twisted Records is a testament to that.

Opening track ‘Roller’ is exactly that, a straight up rolling house number, crisp percussion a catchy hook with a ‘rolling bass line’. The introduction of bright melodic chords & classic house stabs take this track to a happier place, just in time for summer months ahead.

‘On My Mind’ is a slightly deeper number, primed for the dance floor & main rooms. Again we find some clever use of percussion, accompanied with cute vocal chops balanced perfectly with an infectious grooving bass line.
Big in sound, big in energy, big in the club!

‘Utopia’ as the title suggests offers an all together sweeter feeling, embracing more tech elements in its sound. Its catchy uplifting vocal is balanced against a grooving sub rolling bass providing the  perfect soundtrack to both the after hours parties and summer terrace alike.

Last but by no means least is ‘Ready’. A sub roaring, bass driven house number with an infectious haunting hook line. A certified club banger, that will hold its own on any dance floor.

For the next Lost release Leftwing & Kody have drafted in Max Chapman. Only three years ago Max was tipped by Pete Tong as one to watch.

For LR 006 we have a 5 track EP. Jackin' leads the way with it's deep hooks and solid vocal samples. This time on a remix tip is another Lost brother PAWSA who adds his signature instrumentation. On a more high tempo synth groove with a trippy rolling bassline Max cleverly masters 'Holding On.' Label bosses Leftwing and Kody add a more melodic spaced out vibe when they join in on remix duties with their trademark arrangement.

To wrap this up 'Too Late' speeds things up a notch with a lively female vocal building on a more techy sound throughout

For Lost Records latest release we headed up North for a bumper package from the forthright of County Durham’s clubland. Andy Lee has been on our radar for a while and from his production skills in a previous life we knew his soulful roots would work well on a classic deep dancefloor vibe for Lost. The lead track ‘Deeper’ is a relentless drum arrangement sitting nicely with a bass groove. The yelping vocal sample accommodates the driving beats creating a dark underground bouncing Balearic record.

On the remix, Josh Butler steps up with his characteristic haunting bassline rearrangement and a much higher tempo synth collection giving a more jackin’ feel to the original. The infrequent vocal stabs topped with a killer breakdown create an overwhelming rhythm throughout.

Andy’s B-side of this EP ‘Hex’ is based on a funky synth arrangement. The slowly filtered vocal hook and the step class style drums matched with a distant breakdown showcase this stellar dancefloor sound.

For the latest output on Lost, Max Chapman produces the goods once again, this time joined by upcoming Kieran Andrews for their inauguration collaboration. The Temperature EP is a straight up three-track compact dancefloor package. 

The lead track Temperature is a delightful slice of deep house with lingering bassy washes, jacking drum patterns topped off with a killer female vocal arrangement. The big drop and pressing vocals shine through for this melodic garage style anthem. 

Ten Twenty One is a much darker house vibe. With some deep hooks and synth patters sitting kindly with a tough bassline, completed with a cleverly spaced out furious vocal stab. Last but by no means least The Groove single is a more percussion heavy techy vibe with an unrelenting bassline and a driving vocal sample. 

This EP will go down a treat in the places that like things nice and deep…

For the latest output on Lost, Max Chapman produces the goods once again, this time joined by upcoming Kieran Andrews for their inauguration collaboration. The Temperature EP is a straight up three-track compact dancefloor package. 

The lead track Temperature is a delightful slice of deep house with lingering bassy washes, jacking drum patterns topped off with a killer female vocal arrangement. The big drop and pressing vocals shine through for this melodic garage style anthem. 

Ten Twenty One is a much darker house vibe. With some deep hooks and synth patters sitting kindly with a tough bassline, completed with a cleverly spaced out furious vocal stab. Last but by no means least The Groove single is a more percussion heavy techy vibe with an unrelenting bassline and a driving vocal sample. 

This EP will go down a treat in the places that like things nice and deep…

“One year ago, the team formed by Vidall  and Dactilar unleashed a John Lee Hooker cover/bootleg upon the world called “Nobody Knows.” The idea of dance music with a message is not paid much heed on the scene today but this concept has been the driving force behind their debut EP.

The title track, “The Device,” is a sophisticated slow dub house track containing a Herbie Hancock interview where we hear him respond to the question, how would you explain what a piano is to an alien? The next track, “Indeed” is a refreshing, powerful vocal house track that will force you out of your seat, and the insightful voice of Marvin Gaye grabs you and never lets go, as he speaks about show business over funk beats that crescendo into sonic emotion in “Part Of Me.”

This debut also features remixes by artists/friends who share the same exigence for their life’s passion: music. It’s no easy feat to have two heavyweights like Martin Buttrich and Guti on the same wax, but AR pulled it off. The “maestro” Martin supplies with “Indeed Remix” a groovy dancefloor hit with elegant vibes, while Guti delivers two remixes of “The Device”–a profound trip reminiscent of the hypnotic african rhythms, and a delightfully ambient tune to perfectly close out one of the most exciting EPs of the year.”

Jay Bliss - Strange Faces

Its been a little over four years since Kellerkind released his first song to the public ear. Sirion Records gladly offered him the platform to do so then and achieved the project "Bergluft" together, which received massive credits worldwide. This was the kick-off to his music career and was followed by many releases on renowned labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Flash Rec. or Hive Audio. Nevertheless he remained active with Sirion Records as well through remixes for other projects or also with his own vinyl release "Altro Mondo". The possibility to tell an extended story is the appeal of making an album for Kellerkind. This is his chance to introduce tracks that arent mainly focused on being "dance floor" music. He integrates this quite aptly and constructively into the album. The rather simple track titles represent moving moments in his musical development. Starting off with a quite jazzy number he makes full circle back to his roots in disco on the dance floor. As the title of the main track says "Disco on the Dancefloor" is ideally suited fort he dance floor with is groovy bass and poignant disco stabs, ready to thrill the masses. The rhythm and atmosphere of this song make summer approach just a little quicker. Continuing with "Its Like" - a rather raw number, shaped by its driving bass line, which takes the buildup of the album further and with its compelling vocals manages to contrast from classic deep- tech house songs. Kellerkind cranks it up with "Triple Distilled" - organs, trumpets, flutes and synchs. A truly musical piece, destined to make you dance. "Its 2AM" keeps that pace of movement. The catchy voices add that something special to the song. "Backflash" is next - this track also appeared on Kellerkinds recently released EP on Stil Vor Talent. Mighty sounds, staged dramatically - a perfect transition to "Play it Loud". Kellerkind relies entirely on melodic bass line at the center of this track and its strong sub bass to pull you in. The precisely placed, bizarre vocal cuts maintain the songs diversity and tension. This is one not to be missed on the dance floor. Concluding the Album shouldnt get your heart pumping, but rather melting into deeper, quieter tracks in which the artist takes us. The final track, the perfect ending to the album, is an incredibly melancholic chord sequence added to a cozy beat. Truly a successful, exciting, well told story. With their variations, the bonus tracks are an excellent addition to Kellerkinds signature style. None lesser than Channel X (Stil vor Talent), Animal Trainer (Stil vor Talent) and Jon Donson (Sirion Records) did the honors.
