As the mothership celebrates its second year of cruising through the boundless stars towards the Unknown, it is once again time to bring on board a new batch of like-minded souls. Collectively, we probe the myriad of cosmic layers that form the Ursa Nebulas.

After delving into the darkest depths of the Aranea Nebula, the captain woke up one day feeling an irresistible attraction towards a gentler, lighter glow. Far-off. Unusual in its presence and echoing rather exotic pulsations.

Chasing the chants of these galactic sirens, we set course to new and uncharted territories that dramatically expand the Ursa universe. This is a realm where ethereal atmospherics and eerie vocals casually meet trancey shoegaze, acid blends in with chic breakbeats, and alien rockstars appear to perform video game music. But still... be wary of the occasional grasp of elegant creepiness and cinematic constructs, palpable remnants of our previous journey.

Out of this astral maelstrom of sonic oddities, a new series has emerged that we’re proud to present to you today: Nebula Scarabea.

Its first opus will be released digitally on all platforms, but also on an alluring laser-etched C-90 cassette tape spruced up with an uncanny analog collage from one of the crew’s most-valued members: Bill Noir.

Hardfloor deliver rolling 303 basslines for the first track in Lazer Record’s first ever release. Building up to a crescendo, this clean, no-frills homage to peak-time raving was curated with clubbing mind. Mutex strikes with an infectious ghetto-inspired vocal and a sharp kick, WHILE Jack4acid uses hypnotic melodies and a dream-like acid infused riff to curate a truly inspired number.

On the flip side Lazer Records label boss Acidulant delivers peak dancefloor material that continues to build and change, drawing on a variety of sounds reminiscent of 90s clubbing. When I found out about Wibo’s death I was crushed, as most of us were. Firstly, I thought it was one of his jokes, he had a sharp sense of a humour, but not in a harmful way; he just loved to move you out of your comfort zone. We worked on this EP for almost a year. Wibo wanted to be involved with me again somehow but collabs were not an option, since we had different studio setups (similar but not close enough). I also didn’t want to distract him from his work on his full-length album at that time. We had done remixes for each other sometime ago (Evan's Gambit was done in 2018.) He wanted to include the Stormfront remix too, but I rejected that idea since I no longer have the stems and project files needed to do a mixdown that would do the track justice. For the Future Eyes remix we had a project file and partial stems, but not the original samples that he used. I did my best to pimp it a bit because the low end was lacking and because it was my favourite remix and, most importantly, it is the first remix w1b0 did for someone. I hope you will enjoy this release.
Dear Wibo, I hope you will forgive me for dragging out the release of our EP celebrating our long and close friendship. We will hit the release date that we spoke about originally though. I had said there was no hurry as I had two releases that were in the pipeline and you agreed, telling me that good things take time. I wish we could do more since we now have almost identical setups, or at least most of the equipment we use daily is the same. You may notice on the record there is no information e.g., artist names, track names, catalogue number and so on. It does not matter to me; I am not important here - the music is the most important thing, along with our friendship. I hope you will agree with me. That is why this release comes with an A4 insert instead, dedicated to you. It was a blessing to have you as a friend.
