By way of NYC, Berlin and before that Moscow, vinyl only techno DJ, producer and record label owner Mary Yuzovskaya has been cultivating her unique orbit in the electronic dance music firmament for over 14 years.

Having graced the decks of all Moscow’s hotspots back in the mid-2000s, Mary moved to Berlin, where she became recognised for both her blisteringly-precise vinyl-only techno sets and her painstakingly professional approach to the craft of DJing. After relocating to NYC in 2013 Mary quickly became a key figure in the US scene, performing regularly at different venues including multiple residencies at some of the city’s institutional parties like Unter, where she was a staple for three years, as well as working as a vinyl distribution manager at renowned Brooklyn-based record shop Halcyon. 

Back in Berlin since 2020, Mary solely runs her very own record label called Monday Off ( @monday-off ), launched in 2017, where she curates and presses work from artists that explore techno's trippier, more hypnotic side. Maintaining the connection with North America, she currently holds a residency at Public Records club in Brooklyn.

Mary has been busily traveling the world and performing her unique take on techno music’s deeper vibes at many noted clubs and parties across the world, including ://about blank, Basement, Compound (LA), Distillery (Leipzig), OHM, Output (Brooklyn), Propaganda (Moscow), and Tresor, to name only a few.

We are happy to host some fresh new talent from Stuttgart Germany this time, presenting Egotot for our 70th podcast edition. The young DJ and producer is the founder of Schimmer Records, a forward-thinking label that promotes a more minimalisitc and modern approach to techno, focusing on hypnotic soundscapes and deep grooves. With its sub-label groovebox it also offers classy house tunes as well. Egotot takes us on a journey with this mix, starting off with atmospehric and dubby cuts, and then steadily progressing in tempo and temprament, culminating in the kind of tracks you might here in a club set, all while maintaining his signature sound of complex rhythms and trippy samples. Silent Warrior is an intense, deep and emotion-filled work dedicated to the memory of a beloved friend.A personal outburst that focuses on the hypnotic and triggering effect that music can have on each of us.Kicking off the A-side is Vortex, a haunting 3-minute introduction that leads the way to a darker path.Taking inspiration from the label's concept, with this track the French artist perfectly succeeds in translating the concept of a vortex - understood as something that pulls you in and evolves - into mesmerizing sounds.With its persistent kick and modular sounds, Silent Warrior stands out as the first “hard and raw” track of the release. An extra blast is given by one South America’s most influential techno artist, Adriana Lopez. With a punchy and persuasive remix of Silent Warrior, she closes the first part of an EP that is as intense as it is hypnotic.The B-side dwelles deeper but without sacrificing a persistent kick - at times even more pronounced - in typical Zadig style. Striking hi-hats and rustling sounds accompany us throughout the whole duration of Portal 38.Here we find another remix by Mod21, who takes Portal 38 and makes it a dystopic and intriguing track, marked by a percussive and constant stab.The outro on the other hand, represents a calm and deep exhale. An ethereal journey that fully contrasts the mood of the whole EP, a deep breath to get back in touch with ourselves and try to find the calm after the storm.

Ậ.Deniậl - also known as Anastasiia, based in St. Petersburg / Russia,  started her career as a DJ in 2008. Her journey began with underground  techno & breakbeat in the techno-club "Tunnel". 
Since then, she has made a long way through out diverse electronic music  genres. 
In 2019, she created her own events series called Sacred Sound Events,  which is built around the underground and hypnotic side of electronic  music.

Denise Rabe´s experience in the Berlin techno scene as a booker, radio host, promoter and dj since she relocated to German capital drawn by the possibility of a life in music, is reflected in the pragmatic, grounded artist she became and the unique, original voice she's developed as a producer.

Her approach and work ethic can be seen expressed on every release she's done under her label, Rabe, where her music is matched with an equal amount of care, thought and work, in the vessels that contain it, within a coherent aesthetic and vision that informs music, artwork and presentation equally.

Imprints such as Mutewax, who released her first 12" in 2015, ARTS where she quickly became one of the label´s staples and Stroboscopic Artifacts where she published "Manifesto" in 2019, are clear reference points that describe her career and its development.

Rabe’s particular inclination to sparse industrial soundscapes, gothic aesthetics, driven grooves under hooks that hypnotize as much as they distinguish, have propelled her 10 year career across stages all over the US, Asia and Europe, as well as the clubs that represent the apex of techno world wide such as Berghain and Tresor.

Purveyors of contemporary electronic music Anagram return with their second remix EP that calls upon some of the scene’s most compelling and uncompromising names. Coalescence, the next chapter from the label, will unfold as a series of remix EP’s reinforcing the labels core values of community, togetherness and growth. The first instalment reflects on their previous three releases reimagining four titles under the controls of Drugstore resident Tiljana T, Ostgut Ton legend Ryan Elliot, Klockworks artist Newa and the Tel Aviv based Yotam Avni. 

Orchestrating the rework of Elad Magdasi’s ‘Liquid Dreams’ is Serbian talent Tiljana T who runs with the cinematic ideas behind the original but uses snapping hits, ebullient bass notes and plenty delay to fuel the cut with a new lease of life. The accompanying A-side sees Ryan Elliott do what Ryan Elliot does best by keeping things straight up four to the floor transforming ‘Sound of the Siren’ by Barbara Ford into pulsating peak hour material. 

On the flip side are two remixes taken from label co-founder Sinfol’s latest solo EP ‘Pull Back’. First up, Newa gets the blood rushing injecting breaking beats and furious energy into ‘Life Of Measure’ resulting in a high tempo no-nonsense techno affair that embodies the sound of the bustling Tbilisi scene. Tying together Coalescence Vol. 1 is arguably the most dynamic choice of the four remixes in Yotam Avni’s 'Final Push' Remix. With a meticulous assortment of intricately crafted synth lines and sequences, he manages to deconstruct Sinfol’s title cut of its acid workouts and replenish it with an equally rivalled amount of energy. Four artists, four remixes, Coalescence Vol. 1!

Marking its 50th release, @skryptom-records’ label head, Electric Rescue, has invited a list of exceptional artists that have inspired and shaped the label’s sound since day one, to contribute to this anniversary compilation. 

With this project, Electric Rescue aims to cover all aspects of techno as expressed by the early pioneers like Scan X to the new generation’s talent like KUSS Gathering Generations represents all the sounds that someone could listen to on Skryptom since its first release, from Deep to Banging Techno, from Ambient to Electro. 

Rrose, Umwelt, Amotik, Anechoic are some of the artists who took on remix duties on tracks taken from Electric Rescue’s recent Esquisse du Nouveau Monde album while this fantastic package gets completed with five special collaborations by Electric Rescue with Zadig, Scan X, Joton, Dyspal, and KUSS. Collectively, these 12 tracks, constitute Skryptom’s representative sound throughout the years.

The portuguese scfi maker Nørbak is back home after his Faktor EP from January 2019. These non clubbing days look like the perfect scenario for listening to long distance works, so here you have this brand new album to enjoy at your private soundsystem. Flesh to Ashes will be released both physically and digitally, with an extra track on the downloadable version.
Nørbak is well known for his precision and deepness, always pushing forward production wise, focusing on the details and sound design aspects.
The album gravitates between beatless cuts, broken beats, profound exercises and virtual dancefloor weapons. Intro and Camera (the extra digital track) belong to the first category, The third morality is the broken cut, Flesh to ashes and Land of sin explore the deepest side of techno and the rest of the tracklist is about peak time tracks.The overall feeling while listening to this album is travelling out there where no gravity is the mood, swinging among stars and constellations, landing on undiscovered planets … a landscape with no viruses or facemasks or repression.
