The final movement of the Grimm Sins Suite is a Passepied that retells the story of Hansel and Gretel. It starts off with just the father melody alone. Then the children Hansel and Gretel enter. And everything is in a major light, but with the introduction of the step-mother's line the music grows minor, and after a pass of the melody, the father theme is devolved into the step-mother's and the minor feel becomes stronger. Then the mother and father themes disappear entirely and the children are left alone, in a minor key and in a slower rhythmic tempo. then the witch begins to entire the scene, slowly. Until she fully comes in as a variation of the step mother's theme and grows even more sinister as it turns to the half-diminished scale.  Gretel is left alone as her brother Hansel is removed from the scene, until she outwits the witch in her gluttony and pushes her into the oven, which is signified by a terrible screaming figure. Then Gretel finds Hansel and they continue to find their way home, finally reuniting with the father bring it back to the original melody figure from the beginning of the piece.

For Halloween night, I do not offer dark music even though I have just finished a horribly dark composition that freezes my blood when I listen to it but you will have the opportunity to discover it in my next album ...😉
So I continue with the fourth composition of my album "The Time", which is in contradiction with the meaning of Halloween because its title is " Immortality " ... I decided to be offbeat 🙃

This composition was inspired by a reading of the poem, "The Swan" by Mary Oliver.

The Swan

Did you too see it, drifting, all night, on the black river?
Did you see it in the morning, rising into the silvery air -
An armful of white blossoms,
A perfect commotion of silk and linen as it leaned
into the bondage of its wings; a snowbank, a bank of lilies,
Biting the air with its black beak?
Did you hear it, fluting and whistling
A shrill dark music - like the rain pelting the trees - like a waterfall
Knifing down the black ledges?
And did you see it, finally, just under the clouds -
A white cross Streaming across the sky, its feet
Like black leaves, its wings Like the stretching light of the river?
And did you feel it, in your heart, how it pertained to everything?
And have you too finally figured out what beauty is for?
And have you changed your life?

Nous nous posons tant de questions existentielles sur notre Vie, notre Mort, ce qu'il y a de l'autre côté du miroir....nous avons tous nos propres opinions, nos croyances sur le déroulement de notre existence, tel que le commencement, la naissance, la vie, la Mort et l'Au-delà...

Cet album est une sorte de réflexion personnelle sur mes ressentis à propos de toutes ses étapes et croyances....
Il y aura des arrangements bien différents et très contrastés musicalement en fonction du thème de la musique ( Epic, très dark mais aussi angéliques et merveilleux)

We ask ourselves so many existential questions about our Life, our Death, what is on the other side of the mirror .... we all have our own opinions, our beliefs about the course of our existence, such as the beginning, life, Death and the Hereafter ...

This album is a kind of personal reflection on my feelings about all its stages and beliefs ....
There will be very different arrangements and very contrasted musically according to the theme of the music (Epic, very dark but also angelic and wonders)

Based on the book Cilka's Journey by Heather Morris

Cilka is just sixteen years old when she is taken to Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp in 1942, where the commandant immediately notices how beautiful she is. Forcibly separated from the other women prisoners, Cilka learns quickly that power, even unwillingly taken, equals survival.

When the war is over and the camp is liberated, freedom is not granted to Cilka: She is charged as a collaborator for sleeping with the enemy and sent to a Siberian prison camp. But did she really have a choice? And where do the lines of morality lie for Cilka, who was send to Auschwitz when she was still a child?

In Siberia, Cilka faces challenges both new and horribly familiar, including the unwanted attention of the guards. But when she meets a kind female doctor, Cilka is taken under her wing and begins to tend to the ill in the camp, struggling to care for them under brutal conditions.

Confronting death and terror daily, Cilka discovers a strength she never knew she had. And when she begins to tentatively form bonds and relationships in this harsh, new reality, Cilka finds that despite everything that has happened to her, there is room in her heart for love.

From child to woman, from woman to healer, Cilka's journey illuminates the resilience of the human spirit―and the will we have to survive.
