Eaux mêlées (2021) 40’

Commande du Logelloù, centre d’exploration et de création à Penvénan situé dans les Côtes-d'Armor. Création en septembre 2021 sur le site remarquable du Yaudet au bord de l’estuaire du Léguer. 

 Un voyage acousmatique imprégné de l’odeur de l’estuaire et de ses eaux mêlées, celle de la vase, de la matière primordiale.
L’union intime de la terre et de la mer caractérise l’ambiance des côtes d’Armor. Il est impossible de distinguer avec netteté́ la limite entre la terre et la mer, entre les éléments solides et fluides. Les rochers, la mer, la rivière, l’estran, les herbues... s’articulent entre eux, la mer entre dans les terres par les estuaires. 
Avec des sons de Noëlle Deffontaines (sable, vase), Benjamin Dousteyssier (saxophone), Christine Groult, Marc Namblard (audionaturaliste), Lê Quan Ninh (grosse caisse), Ana Speyart(boue).

Giffen Good (2014) for trombone + live electronics

Just a little live twiddling of the controls to show what the module can do in audio range. No other modules used. This is from a prototype, so fine tuning and smoothing of the controls is still to be done (this will remove the crackling that is still audible on some of the more filtered sounds).

Louis GOLDFORD is a composer of instrumental and mixed music based in New York City. His works are characterized by processes of emergence and approximation, interwoven psychoanalytic and existential formal models, and traversals of abstract resonances and virtual spaces which, at times, have involved data sonification and experimental approaches to orchestration. Louis is the recipient of a 2021 Fromm Commission from Harvard University. In 2019 Louis completed his Cursus at IRCAM, supported by the Fulbright Commission in France. Louis has been a Laureate of the Voix Nouvelles of Fondation Royaumont and a Laureate and resident composer of the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. Recent performances include those by the International Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Linea, Wet Ink, the Talea Ensemble, Longleash, Yarn/Wire, Fonema Consort, the JACK Quartet, and Ensemble Dal Niente, among others.
