Minimal Techno

This playlist/album is a bunch of Minimal Techno tracks that I made using my laptop, an old Yamaha 8-track recorder, and a 1TB portable hard drive full of WAV loops and samples etc...then I mixed all of that with many hours of experimenting and "presto" as they say!! 
Seriously though, as a guitar and bass player of hard rock normally (been playing for 26 years (Am in my early 40's!), I attacked making these Electronic tracks just as I would if I were recording a rock guitar track...treating each piece of hardware and each loop as a bunch of "tools"...all waiting to be electronically manipulated...
I've made about 3 dozen of these Electronic/Minimal/Techno tracks so far (all in different stages of completion) but I'd say about 2/3rd's would be finished.
I'll gradually upload them over the next 4 to 8 weeks.
I hope you like these tracks and that they don't sound too typical -I just want the listener to chill out and enjoy the quirky FX and beats...!!

This track was inspired after listening to a lot of "Plastikman" (AKA Richie Hawtin) hence the title "Plastika". No track in particular, he just inspires me for new ideas as he's done a lot of things years ago that new DJ's are just discovering so check him out for sure if you haven't already.

Dancing Alone

My latest Minimal/Techno/Dance track...I know guitar players are not supposed to like Electronic Dance music but I love ALL MUSIC (except modern so-called R&B -it used to stand for "Rhythm & Blues" (and to me that means Otis Redding, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy & Janis Joplin etc not Beyonce, Celine Dion or Maria Carie's high pitched squealing - THAT IS NOT RHYTHM & BLUES man!!!!
Anyway, I do like experimenting with electronic noises, sounds and loops ...etc...using mainly just my laptop, a sampler. an old Yamaha 8 track analogue cassette recorder and a mixer so I also make Techno tracks...hahaha...if you hate Techno/Dance music I understand completely -you'd maybe prefer some Blues/Rock tracks that I played Bass and guitars on and recorded under the names of "Geetar Dan" and "TVcop Blues"...hope you can dig it man!!

I'm a home based artist (unsigned) whose equipment is limited to a good laptop, lots of good software and 2TB worth of loops and samples I've collected over the years. Primarily I am a guitar player, (to check out some of my guitar playing i have an alternate project under the name of "TVcop Blues" - www.soundcloud.com/tvcopblues) so I know my music theory fairly well and I find a good knowledge of timings is important when it comes to electronic music. My main influences are dark, minimal artists with good effects like Pig &amp; Dan, but I also like progressive house (like Perfect Stranger) and progressive psy-trance (like Captain Hook) as I spent 3 months in Goa in 2007. Ultimately I'd love to make a living from making music but my main reason for making this music in the first place is to satisfy my curiosity of what I'm capable of creating. It's a challenge I guess is another reason as well as the satisfaction and happiness that a good track can relay to another listener. If my tunes can paint a picture or give a feeling then it's accomplished something I guess, so I hope that's what they do for you. Enjoy!
