The brainchild of musical polymath Tyler “Fournames” Fortney, CUFFED is a project crafted to defy conformity while paying tribute to the soundtrack of his youth.  Diving deep into a realm of his own creation, the native Angeleno combines elements of Depeche Mode, Killing Joke and Sisters of Mercy, processing these lifelong influences through his own lifetime of creation and sonic exploration.  
 
CUFFED’s music is more than just a blend of haunting melodies and pulsating synths; it's a form of therapy for this 20-year music veteran and first-time solo artist.  Having spent his career working with notable artists The Neighbourhood, She Wants Revenge, Daniel Ash, Mark Hoppus, and Scarypoolparty among others, Fortney felt it was time to channel his inner demons into something raw and real.  With his current series of releases, CUFFED invites you to step into a world where nostalgia meets innovation, and where music is more than just a series of notes – it's an emotional journey, as he navigates the shadows of LA's underbelly, one synth-laden track at a time.  
 
'Visitors' is the third chapter in the story that began with Cuffed’s debut single 'Possessed' and continued with the second single 'Deceiver'.  Out October 27, 2023 via eclectic LA record label DUNE ALTAR.

Escuchar a Low Blows conlleva un viaje a una época lejana donde el descubrimiento de las emociones necesitaba un tiempo de maduración. Un proceso que había que asimilar con los pocos recursos a nuestro alcance en cuestión de acceso.

Y realmente, las emociones hay que digerirlas de forma pausada para que tengan su efecto. Algo parecido ocurre con este nuevo single de Low Blows, un trío peculiar porque sus componentes viven entre Ibiza, Getxo y Mataró aunque afincados en Barcelona, y al que hay escuchar con la calma y atención necesaria como cuando comprábamos los primeros discos, porque así podremos encontrar el detalle.

«Normal» sugiere atmósferas dark que apuntan a la melodía entre guitarras y bajos penetrantes que se ajustan a la voz profunda y determinante de Carlos Vergara, líder del proyecto.

“Normal”, es su nuevo video single, grabado y mezclado por Lluis Cots en Estudi Nautilus y masterizado por Víctor García; el videoclip es también obra de Carlos Vergara y planta una desgarrada secuencia de imágenes corporales que quitan el sueño. La temática de la canción pone en valor la autenticidad y te incita a demarcarte de la cultura de las masas, las apariencias y el influjo de las modas.

In their latest single Go!, Barcelona’s power post-punk trio Low Blows serves up a hefty dose of rebellion, infused with a gritty, dystopian edge and a sound reminiscent of early U2. The track, layered with sharp, post-punk guitar work, carries the echo of Interpol’s brooding delivery and the industrial chill of Gary Numan’s classic phase.

“We are romantics, existentialists, and somewhat pessimistic, but we seek to be constructive through our critical thinking towards the status quo and mass culture.”

Produced under the watchful eye of Matteo Vallicelli (The Soft Moon), Go! delves into the fleeting essence of existence, championing the right to live life on one’s own terms, against the backdrop of societal skepticism and the looming specter of mortality. The lyrics are a defiant call to arms, a declaration of independence from the weight of external judgment, encapsulating a raw desire to carve out a personal path, even as the end draws near.

Go! serves as a poignant meditation on life’s transience, urging us to seize autonomy amidst the ephemeral dance with time. It’s a bold rebuke of conformity, an ode to personal sovereignty in the shadow of death, embodying the fierce yearning to sculpt one’s legacy, undeterred by the finite march of existence.

In their latest visual offering, Low Blows teams up with director Carlos Vergara for a stripped-down, black and white performance piece that’s unvarnished and  compelling. The video captures the band’s raw magnetism and electric stage presence, presenting a no-frills glimpse into their dynamic energy.
