Marques Wyatt is an ambassador of house music for the West Coast and a cornerstone of electronic music in Los Angeles since the 80’s. His Om Records classic ‘For Those Who Like to Get Down’ (originally released in 2002) was loved the world over and championed in London by Ben Watt and Jay Hannan (at their legendary Lazy Dog nights), in NYC by Little Louie Vega and Kenny Dope (at the infamous Masters at Work), in Chicago by the likes of Frankie Knuckles and Derrick Carter and of course in San Francisco by the likes of Mark Farina, Miguel Migs and Kaskade.

Now, 13 years later Marques continues to spread his brand of aural love in Los Angeles, and through touring the width and breadth of the United States and other continents. He globe trots everywhere from Los Angeles to New York, Shanghai to Barcelona, and Tel Aviv to Dubai with the mission to bring musical unity, love and celebration of life to all souls in his pathway.

Joining him on the remix duties are future stars themselves; Soul Clap and Click Click.  The Soul Clap Remix injects the original vocal sample with an extra dose of funk laced booty shaking deep house. The flip Acid Smoothout mix takes the groove into even deeper and heavier territory. Not to be outdone, Click Click builds on the vocal loop into a funky deep house groove that’s perfect for ripping up dance floors. Finishing out the package is the original Deep Sunday Retro Vibe Mix that still sounds great 13 years since people originally got down to it.

We have edited the entries to around 2 minutes and tried very hard given the number of entries and time involved in cutting the best part of the track for everyone. Usually we take an overview so there should be a breakdown and the full on part of the track. If you are REALLY unhappy with the edit please cut your own and send us a message with the link to download pasted into the message. MAKE sure the hownload checkbox is ticked. Remember we are not judging on these clips, they are for others to listen only. 2 minute clip max

If you'd like to have your own remix up on your own page (after we have announced the winners only please) we'd be grateful if you put a clip rather than the full length and we'd also be very grateful for you to add the URL for where people can buy the winning remixes of this release. Winning remixers of our first competition featured on the released package which has just been licensed to and will be released by Ministry Of Sound. Cubular DJ's "That Bell Track" Remix winners will see their remix released by EMI in South Africa as well as a very hot label in Denmark. With the track shaping up to be large they could be seeing their mix on a whole load of cool labels and maybe even hitting the charts. so get remixing on our latest contest and make your entry count!!

3. Please place finished remix in our dropbox (PRIVATELY) and send us a message to check receipt. Make sure we can DOWNLOAD it and make sure it is NOT "Public". Please do not send the track to the group.
4. Please name the remix "Jules Spinner feat aB - Rollin on (YOUR REMIX NAME Remix)". Thankyou
5. Top 5-10 Remixes (depending on quality) will be promo'd to 500 Top World Dj's. Sent to and potentially licensed to 500+ of the hottest labels around the world and finally receive a full release on 953 recordings including made available for sale on iTunes and Beatport.
6. Although NOT essential it should be noted that most of the winning entries in past comps had mastered (some professionally - some themselves) their remixes to a high standard.

Lowered Recordings is an Independent Music Label focused on House Music. The label is based in London, United Kingdom and run by Music Industry professional and producer Jules Spinner.

Lowered are equally at home putting out underground music as they are crossing them over to the mainstream. We make no bones about what sometimes ends up as highly commercial may have once started life as something very cool. Here some of our past and future masters.
 
Jules Spinner started his music career DJ'ing over 20 years ago, moving onto promoting at Nicky Holloways infamous Velvet Underground and Mars (formerly Milk Bar) Clubs. Since then Jules moved into the business side of recorded music working first at BMG and then at Ministry Of Sound, UK.

In 2002 Jules left the Ministry of Sound where he had worked in A&R and Marketing to start Lowered Recordings. In 2003 Jules produced "Husan" by Bhangra Knights, put it out on Lowered, signed it on to Positiva and following the Top Ten success has not looked back.

Lowered are lucky to work with some of the biggest and best labels in the world.
