Child Of is the project of NYC- and Florence-based producer and DJ Todd Weinstock, whose music blends house and techno with depth, emotional pull, and contrast. A lifelong musician, Todd came up immersed in the raw intensity of the New York hardcore scene—a community-driven offshoot of punk—cutting his teeth as a (formerly) straight-edge kid with a guitar, long before turning his focus to electronic music. He has toured the globe as a guitarist in a variety of influential bands, Glassjaw among them, performing alongside artists like Deftones, Gang of Four, and Peter Murphy.
As his sound evolved, he began fusing the urgency of his roots with rhythm, synths, and a growing connection to the dancefloor. That creative throughline eventually led to Child Of—a solo project rooted in feeling, shaped by subcultures, and driven by the need to move both body and spirit.
Now splitting time between NYC and Florence, Todd brings that spirit to his DJ sets: emotionally charged, rhythmically driven, and always a little sideways from expectation.
As Child Of, he has already brought his sound to NYC venues like House of Yes, Elsewhere, and Musica, opened for artists like Gabriel & Dresden and Le Youth, and co-founded the warehouse series Pixelated. He also remixed “Life Is an Experiment” for Remix the Universe, a posthumous project built around the final vocal recordings of dub pioneer Lee “Scratch” Perry, created by New Age Doom.The release drew critical acclaim for its bold, genre-spanning reinterpretations, with Child Of’s remix emerging as one of its standout moments—reimagining Perry’s message through a hypnotic, club-ready lens.
