In 2025, attention spans are said have diminished to around seven seconds, or so the catastrophisers among us like to point out; Mexican label Short Attention know how to handle the fact, lightening the mood by basing their label name on it. Now Bristol-born, New York-based DJ Nature drops a four-track housekeeping round, one that drips with the grit and warmth he's honed since his early days as Milo Johnson of Wild Bunch fame. His trademark beatdown style is all here: low-slung basslines, loose drum work and a lived-in texture that feels hand-built yet briskly balanced. 'Shattering Myths' rides funk-heavy percussion and liquid melodies, 'One' folds in smoky r&b vocal loops, while 'Medusa Weed' winds through eerie synth phrases. Closer 'Eternal Winter' eases the tempo into a hushed, glowing finale.

Kleintierschaukel’s first release on Akumandra presents an unstable proximity to the archaic, with equatorial acoustics that modulate between organic and synthetic states. Drum'N'Feels is about the re-enchantment of culturally heavy sampling - an acknowledgment to an indigenous sound that warps the perception of home and away.

The first track, Long Time Ago, utilizes sporadic square waves as the engine and embellishes with a series of sensory sound cyclones.

Crazy Dayz is an auditory story telling of an event horizon that is never fully approached. Arbitrary vocals and low swells allude to the dynamic haze of nighttime euphoria.

The syncopated guitar strum provides an omnipresent reality to Kidz of Tibet - a deconstruction of a desolate, desert melody to form a vacant audio-synthesis.

Buffi and the Dolphins, the final track of the EP, is a full-bodied submersion into subterranean liquid percussion. The splurge on cavernous sampling builds the frequency layers needed for this multi-textural sound.

Luca Musto is an enthusiast of soul, jazz and blues, his electronic music/’slow- house’ oozes of grooving beats and hypnotizing melodies. With his Italian roots reflecting rhythms through cracks in a musical mirror, these cozy, grounded atmospheres will set you up to lay back, relax, and dance: this paradox perhaps best encapsulates the complexity of Musto’s grooves. 

Where other artists rely on established formulas and resort to complacency, Musto embodies the opposite. Based in the dungeons of Berlin, he coalesces the city’s unique musical footprint with his own nuances and projects them into his music as a symphony of impressions. His catalogue merges the resilience of modernity with authenticity and the musical preferences of our generation with subtlety, so that it never feels to be listening to just another record. 

Instead, it invokes in fans of electronic music a feeling of familiarity and expertise, which is reflected in his creative sampling and merging influences. With each new release, the listener can’t help but notice that Luca doesn’t take his talent for granted, but as basis for higher aspirations.
