"Luciano Lopes is a keyboardist handful. Yes, those that transform a short improvisation on a permanent theme", So the journalist Rodrigo Sabatinelli begins his critique on “Deafness” (Surdez), the second keyboardist CD in his monthly column in “Audio Music and Technology”, February 2006 magazine.
Born in 1977 in Rio de Janeiro , Luciano Lopes began his musical training since the age of nine making private keyboard lessons for six years, along with lessons perception in Villa-Lobos State School of Music, when he decided to intensify the study of piano with master Antonio Adolfo, where after two years , also completed courses in harmony and arrangement . In 1995 she passed in third place for the composition course at the University Estacio de Sa and in 1996 moved to the Villa-Lobos Institute, College of Music UNI-RIO, where he graduated teacher in 2001. Later concluded extension course in acoustics at the physics department UERJ and participated in workshops and many such as improvisation workshop in Bimhuis / Muziekgebouw Holland, coordinated by experienced bassist Arnold Dooyeweerd, convervatory of Amsterdam teacher.
Parallel to their learning, Luciano Lopes has always worked in the arts. First as keyboardist and later also as a sound engineer, arranger and music producer. After various experiences in schools recitals and garage bands, we can consider that your first professional job was in 1994 : a season of voice and piano in a nightclub in Rio de Janeiro , with the expert in Brazilian music , Rodrigo Faour .
  From there , Luciano Lopes starts playing at night in Rio and in various bands such as BandoGaia ( band attached to the motion of appreciation of black culture ) , which in 1995 recorded his first professional CD, and also made a video clip on film .
In 1996 he was a finalist of the contest "Kaiser - Open University of Music" with the band Pata de Leão, in 2007 was a finalist in Cascavel Jazz Festival with his original work of instrumental music.
  After that, it is important to mention the pop-rock band Mãe da Rua, which in 1997 was successful in the southern region of the country, especially in Santa Catarina. It was when he had the opportunity to work with renowned producers like Carlos and Tom Capone at the CD released by Warner / Dubas under the artistic direction of Ronaldo Bastos.
At this band, he mets the guitarist Cláudio Gurgel who later, in 1998, founded the Antro Studio. With this studio Luciano Lopes, Cláudio Gurgel produced together dozens of artists. In particular we highlight the double CD "Alimentar", debut album of solo Guto Goffi, drummer of the legendary band Barão Vermelho.
The duo also produced "Pernamblack", an independent Black Music CD from one of the greatest MPB : Michael Sullivan. With Sullivan they even recorded the DVD "Na Linha do Tempo" where, in addition to working with major artists like Carlinhos Brown and Arnaldo Antunes also were nominated for Latin Grammy in 2010 as best pop album.
His work in Antro Studio still earned him two CDs and one DVD of your work of instrumental music. With influences from the jazz of Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock, as well as the rock of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, his first CD "Entoando", made in 2000, was the starting point for “Deafness”(Surdez) saga that would later result in a studio album with twelve tracks and a DVD recorded live with no overdubs. sounding with hybrid between jazz and rock, the compositions are distinguished by sober tones of the keyboards that, leaving aside the synthesizers, value the Fender Rhodes piano and Hammond organ.
As keyboardist Luciano Lopes worked with many artists of MPB as: Ivete Sangalo, Zizi Possi, Lobao, Jorge Mautner, Sandra de Sá, Zelia Duncan, Jerry Adriani, Elza Soares, Afonjah, among many others. Also followed in Brazil, international artists such as singer gold in Italy, Lili Rocha and also played with the great name of the reggae world Nabbi Clifford .
Luciano has also experience in big events, like when played at Rock in Rio 2011 with Guto Goffi Quintet, and the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour presented by Coca-Cola in 2014, in Rio de Janeiro. Pioneered in Brazil, when the Mane Garrincha Arena in Brasilia, in front of 60,000 people, in addition to playing keyboard was responsible for scheduling and synchronization with the hologram on the show televised live on national television at Multishow channel: "Renato Russo Symphonic" .
Theatre participated in the musical play "Mass Quilombo" Milton Nascimento, where he played alongside acclaimed drummer Robertinho Silva and Tulio Mourao, the Maestro .
In Cinema, Luciano Lopes worked as a musician/actor in feature film "Cazuza - o Tempo Não Pára” ( Globo Filmes ) by Sandra Werneck. Played the role of João Rebouças, keyboardist New Band Cazuza. In this film Luciano worked with music producers André Moraes and Guto Graça Mello.
          Today at 37, Luciano Lopes divides his time between teaching activity ; musical producer in his studio ; and accompanying artists in concerts and recordings. Meanwhile, focuses on the production of his new CD with copyright release set for later this year.
